Whatever configuration I seem to do, I cannot get the speech to work in King's Quest 6. I use Amandon loader, with newest VDMSound installed. I use Windows XP. It looks like it's emulating the Sound Blaster for the music fine, but when it comes to speech I just see the subtitles. Maybe there is something I need to do in King's Quest 6 itself, like tell it to use speech instead of subtitles, but I have not found such a thing. The game totals to 15.1 MB. I downloaded it off the internet and maybe I need to buy the CD-ROM version to get speech, but I think they recorded sound ad very low quality and it should be there. any help would be appreciated.
