AI've got a build that's upsetting and viewer discretion is advised...
[...]
The idea is I was going to have a Northwood Unleashed kind of build, with fast DDR2 RAM, a fast GPU and an SSD. But now I'm too scared to stand the PC upright.

Don't be scared by your own monster 😀
Don't give up, you'll get it roaring 😀

This build is impressive!
The monstrous cooler is very Frankensteinish, and this I like 😀

I am optimistic that you'll find a way to mount the cooler using screws, as it seemed to be intended.

Just make sure that the case fan is mounted that way that it blows into the case, not outwards. And maybe mod the PSU fan to run full power, and make sure there are sufficient holes so the airflow will be sufficient.

BTW I also like zip ties, as my 5x86 WIP Frankenstein shows. But I am not sure whether zip ties are good where due to heat the plastic could expand substantially and lead to loose cooler connections..

They are available in high temp (Peek Ties) as well as grades of heat resistance now. I'm really not sure however if they will help in this case. These need two firm mounting points to wrap around and tie to, I just can't tell from the pictures.

And yes, superb use of zips! 👍
Sometimes they come in handy

Fry’s electronics in Fremont Ca. ( Silicon Valley ) had a Tesla Coil years before the car maker Tesla was formed.
Ironically, they are both in the same city very near to each-other.

The Tesla Coil was VERY LOUD and Scary to watch.

My Windows 95 computer with 233mhz MMX CPU works great for playing these old games.
And the AWE64 sound card sound great with the Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 speakers.

This tower is running slow compared to my Voodoo Desktop computer.
I will have to rebuild it.

And recurring nightmare starts all over again.

This is worse than watching reruns of Coronation Street.

OK, in respect & to be 100% honest...

I don't plan on "Frank" to be a "Halloween only" build 😏...

He will remain up and enjoyed all year long, just as any other build (as well as all my Halloween decorum👻)

😇 I simply can't just pack him away! 😈

Thanks guys, 2021 Halloween was a BIG Success. Had lost of fun this year and lots of “trick or treaters”.
I turn off all the lights and played this video on my BIG 65” TV and the house lit up like a Strobe light.

See you next year Halloween builds.

Pumpkin from Minnesota Wins at 2,560 lbs.
New North America Record.
At Least Minnesota can WIN at some things.
This guy drove his GIANT pumpkin to California all they way from Minnesota. That’s half way across America. That’s over 1 Ton ( 2000 lbs. )
So he must have had a BIG Truck.
At least he WON $23,000
Not Bad for a few months of work caring for a pumpkin.
These Farmers sell GIANT Pumpkin Seeds too for anyone who wants to grow their own Giant Pumkins.

In my native area of UK back in the day, it was an excuse for kids costume parties with seasonal games like apple bobbing, but trick or treating was not really a thing. But that seemed to be catching on more around the turn of the century. Think it's the bigger cities where it's more common. It kinda got conflated though with the November 5th "Guy Fawkes night"/"Bonfire night"/"Fireworks night" tradition of kids making a "Guy" a Guy Fawkes dummy to burn on the bonfire, and going round the neighbours with it asking "a penny for the Guy?" wherein they were the junior organisers for something of a community bonfire and fireworks event, on a common or waste ground, and were collecting the money for fireworks. This morphed into kids claiming to trick or treat but asking for money, which does not go down well. The penny for the guy thing was also quashed with insurance restrictions for "official" bonfire events on school etc property and no tolerance any more for fires in parks, commons and on waste ground.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.
