Hello all hope everyone is doing well.
i recently purchased a new psu from ebay for my amiga 500
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/124248830020?hash … ZAAAOSw2SxfAler
i am just wondering what are the correct voltages as im a little worried as my supply reads +5.10 -12.1 +12.1
is this normal as ive read the supply should be just +5 -12 +12
can the little over voltage damage the computer?
also ive never heard of anything using -12 why is the voltage negative and what does this mean and how does the computer use negative voltage?
thanks

All voltages are within normal range +/- 10% - usually are a little higher without load as well.

-12V is a common rail in many computer power supplies - voltages can be either positive or negative

at what voltage under load should i get concerned about?

If you are interested in long life of the custom Amiga chips, make sure the PSU keeps the ATX specification of +-5%, which is in accordance with the chip makers' typical specification.
