I think an MT32 (any version) and an SC55 or SC88 covers pretty much all the ground you need that more modules doesnt really bring much.

ob6 wityh strymon must sound pretty awesome. not a fan of the elektron boxes myself tho 😀

Yeah it is completely unnecessary but fun to hear how different things can sound on different modules. It has also been kind of inspiring when I hear a sound used in a way I like I can play it with my midi keyboard. I think that is really cool in a way. Then I can also use effects and whatnot if I want.

I’m still learning the quirks of the elektron stuff. I like it but it can be really cryptic. I think they did a decent job making the digitakt somewhat easier to navigate. I like having some kind of hardware on the fly sampling so they work well for that. The ob-6 is stellar, it keeps me from thinking about buying any other synths.

When I play GM stuff I always play two different modules at the same and mix them together, it give the music a much richer, thicker fatness. So I run a SC88VL and an E-MU SoundEngine.

I love messing with my eurorack and my samplers (I've a bunch of e-mu samples and gear). I want to get a System8 but its sooo big (and my wife would kill me), I have a System1M in my eurorack which has an awesome sound, its a much overlooked roland device. Probably going to pick up an old Access Virus C.

I had a system 1 but I think I sold it. It never really clicked for me. I have gone through a lot of synths though before I found what I like to use. One thing I really like about the elektron stuff is it packs a ton in a small footprint.
