I'm looking for a solution similar to Aomei Backupper , where I could save a system image to tape and then recover it onto a new hdd. I'm on a 386-25 with 4 mb ram. I'm assuming just copying the files wont work? Could I just backup the files and then do some MBR stuff?

Any help is appreciated.

All you have to do to transfer DOS to a new drive is:

1. Partition and format new drive.
-- a. Partition then set the partition to ACTIVE
-- b. Use "format ( drive letter - ex. D: ) /s to transfer the system files to make it bootable. Alternatively, you can just format and then run sys C:\ (new drive letter - ex. D: )
2. Copy over the rest of the files
