Someone is making those for Voodoo enthusiasts. They have PCI 1.1, as well as 2.0.

Nice. They aren't for the different PCI versions, they just have their old version and the new version that lets you close the case properly since the ago card is set back. I do wonder how bad that little vga extension Hurts the video signal though.

I have one of this agp to pci but the older v1.1 version. I have tried a lot of cards, all of them works. (Voodoo3 2000, 3000, Fx5500, FX5600, Ati 9600XT, 7600GS AGP)
Voodoo3 AGP card works with Unreal Gold Glide mode in PCIe slot and 18 Core Xeon E5-2686v3 Cpu and Windows 7 64bit.
So it is not only for 3DFX cards.
Only problem is that the vrm part needs cooling. I use with a pci to pcie (Asmedia 1083) adapter and a riser (like an external video card) in the newer motherboards.

Isn't at least PCI 2.1 required in order to support 66 MHz, though? Or is that just incorrect information on Wikipedia? 🤔

The version doesn't related to the PCI version but to the version of the adapter.

I designed it a couple of months ago, AGP 1.0 1x (3.3V only), 4 layer board with uninterrupted ground plane under PCI signals, properly terminated unused AGP signals, 12V PCIe power input, 3.3V/5V switching power supplies which can deliver more power than the AGP specs require, separately filtered AGP VIO, high speed level shifters, it can work in any 3.3V/5V PCI slots, 33/66MHz jumper (if the mobo supports PCI 66MHz ofc), 2 fan headers with support for 5V/12V 3pin/4pin fans and adjustable PWM.

I’d like to get one of these. Any chance you could hook me up?

I have one of Wongo's AGP-PCI adapters I purchased a few years ago. I suspect this is almost exclusively a Voodoo 4/5 product since these are effectively just PCI cards with an AGP card edge.

Here are some photos.

Sorry, really don't have the time to make new boards now. Also, there is a high chance that the board isn't manufacturable at the moment due to the global IC shortage.
If you want, I can send you a blank PCB and the schematics/BOM.

With all the people here talking about pci adapters, this seems like a natural place to ask: Ddoes anyone have a PCI-X to PCI-E adapter, and/or know where I can get 3-4 of them?

they look like this: https://www.pridopia.co.uk/8114.html (BTW They havent returned any of my emails)

This is the major holdup for a super-awesome retro rig project, unless someone is SUPER generous to lend me 3x pci- voodoo 5's.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

There aren't many PCI-X to PCI-E adapters out there. The IC I used on this PCI-E to PCI adapter ( download/file.php?id=98170&mode=view ) also supports PCI-X and is reversible, so one could design a PCI-X to PCI-E adapter with it. The IC is PI7C9X130 . Pretty much 0 stock worldwide though.

Do you need the actual full bandwidth of the PCI-X slot to be available to the PCI Express device that you want to use in the PCI-X slot ?

Even the quite common PLX PEX8111 converter chip, used in many common PCI to PCI Express adapters, supports 32-bit at up to 66MHz (which I believe would work at 66MHz in a PCI-X slot, someone please correct me if I am wrong), which would give up to 266Megabytes per second . That's pretty close to PCI Express 1.x at x1 (single lane), except for the lack of full duplex (which PCI-X does not support either, AFAIK) .

short answer, yes. While each device i plan to use, will have peak usage that will greatly benefit of the additional bandwidth, but it will be a peak. I don't expect actual usage to be that aggressive.

You're trying to break the record of 475 Bungholio Marks aren't you?

heh, something like that. I don't want to share too many details, but this has been my white whale since I got into retro computing. The adapters are actually a backup of a backup plan. A plan that is more and more likely to be final result.

Anyone with one of these adapters have an AGP ATI All-in-Wonder card? Curious if the card including video capture works on them. No real need for the 3D part to work properly.

Is there something special about Rage all in wonders for capture? There used to seem to be tons of graphicless TV wonder PCI cards around with just the tuner/capture hardware one.
