There is a huge number of these K6-2+ Embedded Super 7 CPUs for sale. Looks like the price is $69.45 for a lot of 3 each. That comes out to $23.15 each, which is not a bad price. I am planning to pick 1 lot of 3 up to try out. Just giving a heads up in case anyone is interested.

I think with that many to sell, they are just trying to clear them out faster if they are sold 3 at a time.

Ye gad you said huge lot...but 30k processors in total? It's like a factory batch that got lost in 1998 or something.

I would agree that these were lost for many years and recently found. I can't think of any other explanation that would make sense.

They say they have even more CPUs in stock. For a total of nearl 60K K6-2+ 570

I bought three of them a while back. They came with slices of original AMD trays 😁
This is a real deal !

So at these quantities, I don't know if the price is all that great anymore. 60k units, how many are they going to sell? How many could you possibly need? that many units effectively tanks the market. They don't seem to want to budge an awful lot on "best offers", maybe it would be best to wait a while for prices to drop when they're tired of taking them taking up space in their warehouse.

Supersocket 7 motherboards, on the other hand.... could go up in price.

Yup they are, perhaps they are mobile variants, might grab this for a test bench and wait for a K6 III+ 550.

I have read were these clock to 600MHz without breaking a sweat and gone as high as 620MHz.

Seeing as I missed the K6 III+ 550 the other day these might just work instead, doubt there is much difference between the K6 II+ and K6 III+

There is about a 3% performance difference between a K6-2+ and K6-III+ in most cases.

Starting at 570Mhz likely helps with that 😁

Bah... the K6-III+ 450 can normally hit 600Mhz+

If these are only hitting 620Mhz regularly than they are nothing special.

These really should do 660Mhz+ without breaking a sweat.

This page says they were able to reach 750Mhz at 2.4v with air cooling.
https://www.engineering-sample.com/index.php? … S%29/AMDK62570/

They are a better process and lower voltage than the K6-2 550 which I was able to run at 660Mhz on air back in the day.

A year ago they used to sell individual chips, but at some point they switched to packs of 3. I actually bought 3 back then for $60.
Now, don’t get your hopes up, these chips are nice but nothing special when it comes to overclocking (in fact I have some K6-2+ 550 CPUs that are much better in this regard).
Of course, that’s just based on my own experience. Some of those 30k chips might actually be very good overclockers 😀
