I just started playing around with DosBox yesterday and I've been getting very heratic mouse mouvement in the 2 or 3 games i tried.

It feels the cursor is just throwing itself all over the place and i cannot do accurate clicks.

Is there a way to adjust the mouse settings or fix this somewhere?

I think the word you're looking for is "erratic".

And yes, I think adjusting the "sensitiviy" line near the start of DOSBox.conf would do the trick.

The only known way to deal with a 'heratic' mouse is to burn it at the stake.

Really. 🤣

You can also try locking the mouse inside the DOSBox window (Ctrl-F10).

Yeah, erratic it is, sorry I'm not English hehe.

I changed the sensitivity in the cfg already, all it does is make it slower, but it's still completely innacurate and jumps all over the place.

CTRL+f10 doesn't do anything..

It's happening in darksun1 and 2, but i'm in the wrong forum if it's game related. I'll take it to the other forum i guess.

Forum is fine, if somebody is offended by it he'll move the topic 😉

Did you try other games besides darksun, and was the mouse fine there?

No i haven't, i don't have anything else that runs on DOS with me. I'll go download something and see how it works.

I corrected what seems to be a typo in the thread's title. 😀

I have had the same symptoms - I've put the solution here:

http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func … 551&atid=467232

'If you are running linux, check if there is some utility related to mouse
running in the background (for example, "unclutter" or something similar).
I have seen the same symptoms you did, and after disabling the utility
everything is back to normal.'

The same probably holds for Windows as well. And I myself had one case where some harmless TSR that I loaded via DOSBox's autoexec section messed up a game. Thus: always check for background processes you may have forgotten about.

Hm somebody here who can reproduce this? Please try logging the
mouse movement in sdlmain.cpp to see if only one of the movement
types (relative/absolute position) is off.
