I did a full recap on my Abit IS7-E V1.2 and wrote down every single cap with their values and dimensions. Since these lists seems to be rarely available, I thought my notes would be very valuable for the community.

I also hope that you guys would participate in this too: if you do/have done full capcitor lists for retro motherboards, please share them! They will be very useful for people with know-how and soldering gear, and for preservation of retro hardware. If you decide to participate, tell the specific model of your motherboard (revision too), exact values, exact physical dimensions and exact amount of each capacitor type. Photos are of course useful but not necessary.

So, here´s my first list:

i need to recap my ABIT KT7A-RAID and i went to the store and they did not have 2200uf out of stock, waiting to go to another store an buy those.

does anyone know if motherboards with 1000uf caps can be replaced with same value and voltage but with low ESR ?

A friend of mine fully recapped my abit BX133-RAID. If I can dredge up the invoices, I’ll provide the list of capacitors. I even had him add optional SMD capacitors in unpopulated spots within the CPU socket. Furthermore, he desoldered Pin 20 (IIRC) of the onboard IDE headers which were preventing most IDE cables from being inserted.

All but one fan headers are dead even after the total recap, but that’s probably not necessary to discuss in this thread. Unless it’s something like dead resistors?
