I just discovered on youtube a pentium 4 at 3.06ghz with 4gb ddr2 ram running windows 11 .
It was slow loading google in edge browser. So slow the ram got out and started to push 🤣
But the implications are windows 11 can run on almost anything.
Thats gotta be useful for old core2 quads.

Here is a link to bypass TPM an CPU requirements.

Windows 11 is Windows 10 so yes it'll run on anything Windows 10 can once you remove the TPM requirements. MS never stated that windows 11 cannot run on machines without TPM but rather that its unsupported and you are on your own if you do that.

Why you would want windows 11 on a Core 2 is beyond me but hey if thats your thing have at it.

Agree TrashPanda !
That is interesting but tried Win 10 on a P4 and used the Corp lite version and installed fine but was slow as snot. Anything above a trimmed Win7 is Not recommended on any P4 in my opinion.

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

only to avoid the tux penquin but i'd run without anti virus and stuff for sure 🤣
I have run steam games (mostly indy) on win10 in core 2 machine with a 1gb ATI PCIE GPU
But yeah it'd be a beast without that enforced anti malware blah blah 😀

perhaps a trim would be without ms anti virus / malware on win 10? i'd sure love to remove it myself and store apps.
I found out that excluding drives from real time protection effectively removes drive monitoring which is better https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/15788/how-to- … ow-turn-it-off/

The Win10 LTSB (or is it LTSC) version has no Cortana, Store or other BS no extra anything. Try to find a Win 11 LTSB version... that is all I know 😀

Shoot, 10 with Edge or Chrome runs like crap on the older i5's at work. I'd hate to see 11 running on those things, and I own a similar machine at home. I did that with my "test box" Dell OptiPlex 5040 and god....it ran like my Compaq 386SX trying to run Skunny Kart.

I always found it odd that the P4 was basically obsolete after 3 years on market but kept being sold forever.

My engineering school had 1.4ghz P4’s in the internet labs but everything engineering was Athlon

As p4’s improved they still stayed out of the engineering labs, nobody wanted to run jobs on them so you had Internet labs with up to 2.8ghz P4’s next to G4/G5 macs while the engineering labs stayed a random mismatch of Athlons with an occasional multi core Tualatin or Zeon.

It’s amazing how slow the 1.3/1.4ghz P4’s felt after just a couple years.

Intel didn't have anything to sell at the time other than Netburst abominations and until Core hit the scene they had to keep pushing shit uphill.

Was,….

Um,, was that a… challenge?

Technically, nothing is stopping it from being a pentium 75 with 96mb of ram….🤷‍♂️

Well maybe, win 7 had a bug that kept it from working on 586 before sp1? Vista may have that bug. Also, you have to modify the install iso to make it install on less than 384? Mb of ram. (It runs very well on 256mb of ram btw…)

thankyou so much A+
Did windows 10 version have issues using a pro license on it (already activated digital pro)
Need to find out if 11 would also
