I found a Lynk Terminal 197-D when I went PC hunting the other day. The only thing is, I cant find any information on it and I have never heard of this brand before 🤣. It seems to work fine for the most part (aside from the screen flickering every so often) and its extremely dirty. I thought I would share this in case anyone was interested. I plan on cleaning it up and restoring it because why not. If anybody has a manual or anything, that would be amazing.

Think that's some IBM terminal type that it's emulating to be used with AS/400 systems. ... a bit of a bummer it doesn't do something ubiquitous like VT-52 or VT-220 to make it easier for linux, but maybe there's terminfo files for those too.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

I have to go to work sadly. I will post another PC that I found thats a bit more interesting tomorrow (the information on this one was much easier to find but the parts sure are not 🤣).

Yea I think I recently saw one of these on an old AS400 fridge-size rack in a customers datacenter...
I'm not sure if that applies to all kinds of mainframe systems but when I did a lot of research on a data general nova we found, it beclame clear to me that there must have been a relatively big market for either aftermarket or oem terminals for these machines.
