Hi,
I'm searching for an epox 8kta3+pro user manual ( i can't find anywhere ) and for the last bios update.
Indeed i've found it in a previous topic a txt file (8k203528.txt to rename into .bin ) attached by another user, but after renaming it into a .bin how should i proceed in order to flash the bios? Do i need a specifical awdflash.exe file revision? And then, once i've booted from a floppy, should i use the same istructions as for an abit kt7a like this "a:\awdflash biosfile.bin /cc /cd /cp /py /sn /cks /r"?
thx in advance

Manual: https://web.archive.org/web/20030430190348/ht … TA3PRO_+PRO.PDF

[edit: ah, bother, the BIOS files link to an ftp site which isn't archived]
[edit: but luckily evasive has it archived here: https://www.elhvb.com/mobokive/archive/epox/bios/index.html 8k202205.exe ]

Here's a page with the manual: https://web.archive.org/web/20040702010700/ht … als/socketa.htm

After watching many YouTube videos about older computer hardware, YouTube began recommending videos about trains - are they trying to tell me something?

Thank you very much. So in order to flash i have to run the 8k202205.exe on the floppy without the need of the awdflash.exe one, ain't it?

Apparently there are instructions in the file: https://web.archive.org/web/20020611070821/ht … sp?article=1302

Sounds like you can either extract the bin file (I guess you just run the exe file to extract the contents), copy it to a blank floppy, try to boot from the floppy and press Alt-F2 when prompted (I guess the BIOS sees that the floppy isn't a boot disk and checks if there's a .bin file on it). Or make a boot disk, copy all the files from running the .exe file to it, then boot from the boot disk and run 'update'. Sounds like using the boot disk method creates a backup of the old bios, so might be slightly safer.

Yes, you're right. Thank you so much.
