freakin sweet!
what memory?

using the drivers recommended in the aiming for the stars thread?

using bios settings I posted earlier?

can you look over my overclocking from earlier and let me know if you come up with a different result? it was with the non ultra

Single stick of 128 at c2. Using your bios settings. Used the 7.76 drivers with the edited ini.

single sided? It occurs urs to me with the ram issues on these boards that we should be giving the chip details for future readers.

Put 3 sticks of my double sided Kingmax TinyBga PC-133 128 MB CL3 and got 50 more points. They are running at turbo and CL2. The agp drivers that came on the cd for this motherboard seem to be the best.

have you overclocked the ti500?
try windows 95?

that's still like 1000 points shy of the record from the k6 aiming for the stars thread

which is surprising, we may need to start bios tweaking.

I also have some bga ram on the way (pc150) some 256 and some 128 but the max settings are already working with the ram I have, another reason we need some more bios options

and my own ti500 I think the record was with a ti200 (a ti500 should be faster though)

I have not overclocked the Ti500 yet. Been getting my drivers figured out. My issue is i have a 400atz and from what i have been reading they dont like going over 600mhz.

my 550 seems to crap out around 630 or so, highest I've gotten it to post is 670

the non ultra seems to be pretty worthless above 100 fsb because the cache won't work at 112 setting if you figure out how to make it work lemme know
you could upload that driver cd to vogons driver library and link it here 😀

still no word on that bios for the ultra

my only idea is somehow getting less than 112fsb working but more than 100 by using that option in the bios. problem is it kept forcing me to set 66fsb to reset it and it kept clearing the bios settings 🤣. I never actually got it to work in a useful way. you could try.

Hi Sphere478, you requested my take on the 5VGF+/Ultra board and BIOS, so here is my 2 cents. 😉

I see that they upgrade the VIA south-bridge from 586B to 686A. The 586B limited you to UDMA33, but with the VT82C686A you get UDMA66 support on the IDE channels, 2 more USB ports, and Audio.

Although the north-bridge is still the same 598MVP, you cannot use the 5VGF-H7-0330 beta BIOS on the Ultra. The ultra needs a VP3-686A-2A5LEM2QC BIOS to support the functions of this new south-bridge.

I’ve checked the 08/09/1999-VP3-686A-2A5LEM2QC-00 Ultra BIOS (FW-5VGF+/ultra-D1-0809) and it has K6-2/-III support but it doesn’t know K6-2+/-III+. It does however support HDDs up to 128GiB so luckily no 32GB or 64GB limit bugs in this BIOS.
I expect the 03/23/2000 BIOS to support the K6plus so I hope you can get it from the seller. I wouldn’t know where to find it otherwise.

Thanks Jan! :p do I wonder, what the latest bios was that was ever made for this board was.

Any thoughts as to how we may add more control over memory and cache timings?

Hopefully anyone reading this if you know or have a newer one sign up and post it :p

Bad news, the bios disk I had been asking him to upload was shipped with the motherboard. Last time I ordered from this guy it took a very very long time to get the board.

Good news is when I finally get it, it will contain a ultra, a ti500, and some pc150 bga ram!

Help! Trying to find bios update for freeway motherboard I’ve reached out to the community for help.

I think even this bios that is on it’s way is likely not the latest bios. So hopefully someone out there knows where they went.

These are good results. But idk if it’s going to be enough to hit the record. 🙁 darn. I was hoping for more. Try win 95

Have you used the k6 tool tools to enable write combining before these runs?

I think the bios you are using now may be a little lacking in k6 + support. I still have not had much luck tracking down a newer bios, our only hope remains the board that I ordered.

Also, try only using the oldest direct x that will run 3dmark 2000

133 fsb I assume you mean.

have you upped the I/O voltage?
cut the ram timings, run memtest, and start adding them back one by one

if that doesn't stabilize it then change the cache timing option, if that doesn't work disable mainboard cache.
