Trouble getting FIC VA 503+ motherboard AGP not working ?

Hey Guys,
My Hard drive died on my Mega-aluminum Voodoo 3 build.
So I had to replace the hard drive but now I can’t get the Voodoo 3 3000 AGP video card driver to load.
Windows 98se device manager reads that it has bios resource conflict with the ACPI.
But I don’t see any settings in bios for ACPI or how to change the video card resource settings.

Does anyone know how to fix this ?

It was working before.

The only thing I changed was the hard drive.

I am using an FIC VA-503+ motherboard with VIA 32 Apollo chipset and I installed the patch files from
Philscomputerlab website.
Retro-os-4-in-1 drivers

Then I installed Win98 SP3 driver set.

I started with a fresh install of Win98se

Everything works but the Voodoo driver will not install

In the second to last picture it says on the right "Assign IRQ for VGA : Disabled". Switch that to Enabled and see if your problem persists.

The two times I tried the "Service Pack" for Win98 it seemed to cause issues without solving any, so I'd recommend not using it. I'd suggest following this guide, then using Norton Ghost to make an image once you have it sorted out. Generic Win98SE Installation & Setup Guide
I'd also disable any unused ports in your CMOS settings.

Have you tried restoring BIOS defaults?
Also Repo Man11 is right about this inofficial service pack imho.

Okay, I have the AGP Voodoo 3 card working now.
I just removed my network card and re-seat the AGP Voodoo and PCI sound card and set my bios settings to Setup defaults and PNP and
Reboot.

Windows 98se discovered my Voodoo card and I was able ti install the drivers fine.

Thanks guys.

I guess the less upgrades and drivers the better.

I am just using the default Win98se install with no upgrades.
I let Voodoo 3 3ooo install disk install any updates.

Also, it makes a difference which VIA 4-in-1 drivers you are using. I found that for me (same setup: FIC VA-503+ and Voodoo3-3000) the best one is a very old one, version 4.17. Since it's a bit hard to find I attached it to my other thread here: FIC VA-503+ and K6-2+/570 (don't install the UDMA drivers in that pack or it will lead to more trouble; there's a good reason why they're unselected by default).

Okay, Here is what I installed in order.
1) I installed Win98se first
Reboot
2) Then I installed USB upgrade 33e
Reboot
3) Then Voodoo 3 3000 drivers
Reboot
4) Then I installed the Sound Blaster Live drivers.
Reboot
I then installed Win98 SP3 core upgrade files.
Reboot
5) Then installed Directx 9 files from the SP3 upgrade installer
Reboot

And everything appears to be working okay.

So the problem was with the “VIA 4-in-1” driver update package and the Win98 SP3 upgrade drivers.
Had to do with the AGP driver resources and APCI driver.

So I did not install the “VIA 4-in-1” driver package this time.
There are 4 driver packages included in this bundle and I am not sure which ones caused the problems.
So I just left them all out.
But the AGP Voodoo card appears to be working Okay.
And APCI appears to be working fine now too.
So I don’t think I need any of the drivers included in the “VIA 4-in-1” driver bundle.

Win98SE doesn't ship DirectX 7 and the V3 drivers you're using (likely from the early 2000 revision of the disc) demands DirectX 7...
