I have Aces of the Pacific running under DOSBox 7.0. Everything runs fine except for one thing. CH-Pedals give me full left rudder with a small amount of flicker all the time. I can F10 to change the rudders to "Keyboard Only" and everything's fine after that. This is a continual problem. I.E. I've tried many times. I've tried calibrating the pedals from Control Panel and AOTP too. I've tried loading the CH floppy that came with the pedals, but that doesn't do anything. These pedals are running fine from Control Panel and calibrate there with no problems, it's just in Aces that the full left rudder kicks in.

Reference info:
Soyo P4-VGA (P4-1.6 Ghz, I think)
128MB Ram
NVidia 64MB card
on-board sound and game port
Win 98se
CH FlightStick Pro

Incidentally, this same set of rudder pedals and flightstick ran this same software just fine on a DOS 6.22 machine in the mid 90's. I'm only loading it now for my kids.

Thanks in advance for you thought on this.

Did you change joysticktype=ch in dosbox.conf?

Maybe you need to set swap34=true too.

OK, let's bring this one back up. My first experience was with W98SE, but now I've rebuilt the machine as a Windows XP box and I've installed SP3.

And I'm going back to the same thing. With a CH flightstick Pro with rudder pedals, I can't use the rudder in ACES of the Pacific. The joystick and rudders function fine under Windows control panel, but I get hard left rudder in the game. I've tried calibrating under Windows and inside the game.

I've tried :
joysticktype=ch
swap34=true

and

swap34=false.

Nothing seems to change the rudder. I've even tried going into ACES and telling it to use rudder pedals then changed that to joystick 2. Neither seems to work. What should I be looking for?

Ok guys, got it working.

It was a configuration issue in Windows control panel.

WAAAAY down bottom, there was an option for a 3 axis joystick (this one has a throttle and I hadn't thought of that as a separate axis.) That did the trick.

Once I got the right joystick set up in Windoze, I'm good to go in ACES. I appreciate this forum and DOSBOX ^5

If the rewrite follows my joystick emulation, ch should represent the ch flightstick pro and virtual pilot pro hats. Doesn't affect pedals.
