Hey there
Wantering if someone might know the answer to this. I have 96' era Escom 486 DX2/66 which I'm attempting to restore back to good health. The issue I've hit atm, is the heatsink that appears to clip over the CPU has four clips two of which have bust off down one side. Meaning the heatsink has no way of staying clipped on top of the processor. Can I use some sort of double sided silicon heat sink adhesive? Does a DX2/66mhz even need a heatsink?
It's been over 20 years since I played around with this era of machine and in the passage of time, I've forgotten how I used to deal with these chips.
Cheers
There's an old android saying which I believe is peculiarly appropriate here. In binary language it goes something like this: 001100111011000111100, which roughly translated means: "Don't stand around jabbering when you're in mortal danger!"
