The very first time tried to run VDMSOUND on my Win XP system, everything worked fine. (I was running Mugen). The last thing I tried to run was WC: Privateer, which didn't work but I expected as much. Next thing I know, I go back to try and run mugen (or anything with vdmsound for that matter) and I get this exiting due to signal sigsegv error followed by a general protection fault at some hex address. VDDLoader.dll successfully loads. Anyone know how to get VDMSound working for me again?

Does the error happen in the game or in VDMSound (i.e. text printed in the DOS window or pop-up dialog box)? Chances are that Windows "updated" something (e.g. NTVDM.EXE) behind your back, or you installed some sort of service-pack/etc.
Cheers,
V.

It happens inside of the dosbox. I thought the same thing may have happened, so I reinstalled it from scratch. Still not working for me though.

Reinstalled what? You're not trying to use VDMSound in DOSBox are you? heh

Yes, it’s my fault.

Nope, un and reinstalled VDMSound. I know better then to try running it (or anything for that matter) with dosbox. I have a new twist on the same problem now though. I've gotten VDMSound to run using launchpads default settings (updated VDMSound) only, but when I try to edit those settings in the slightest way, I get the Sigsegv error. It's really annoying since all I ever change from default is the joystick settings (2 two button joys to one 4 button). Any ideas for how to solve?

JOY2KEY. Bling.
Seriously. The joystick emulation needs refinement. It's always the first thing that shits. Vlad. First though, UNIFICATION. Come onnnn! Damn you Canadian bastard Vlad! (I'm feeling classificational tonight... that's not even a word, but, I'm tired.)

Blagh, Vladamir, stop making multiple threads about the same problem. *splices the threads*

Yes, it’s my fault.

The usersystem wouldn't let me delete the new thread after I accidently posted it, I promise! Anyway, JOY2Key is only for linux systems if I'm not mistaken. Know any other keymappers I could use?

JOY2KEY is most definitely NOT a Linux-only program, and anyone that told you so should be shot.

Hmmmm...ok, I'm lost now. The only Joy2Key I can find is the one for linux. Can I use this one under XP or is there indeed another version just for windows that I've yet to find in my searchings? I really hope my noobie isn't showing.

This is not a thread for MUGEN. Jesus. Posting crap everywhere is NOT going to get anything resolved for you. It'll just probably make us LESS likely to help you. At all. This is WTF.

Yes, it’s my fault.
