Our couple friends are half Canadian.. wait that's phrased pretty awkwardly.. the dude is Chinese-Canadian..

...anyway, because of this I was just introduced to wonderful Nanaimo bars. And they fing rock!

Anyway, for Colonial Genocide Day we had a Turkey with rice stuffing that featured Chinese sausage amongst other things. For leftovers I had a ton more stuffing yesterday along with a nice green pepper and onion omelette.

Thanks for the tip on those Nanaimo bars. I might try and make them some day, leaving out anything cheese related and replace the traditional nuts with chopped Brazil nut's. It is one of the only nuts that I like. Worst cake one can serve for me, is an old Danish nut-cake. It is a standard kind of shortbread cake, with nuts added in the volume of 50% chopped nuts. And they are wall nuts and hazel nuts. Like I really hate that cake. Just the thought of it makes my guts turn.

Americans don’t really eat duck as much as turkey. Turkey dinner is more popular during the holidays.
But once during a Christmas vacation all the restaurants near us were closed. So we ate dinner at a Chinese
Restaurant which are traditionally open on Christmas Day. And they were serving Duck.
Duck meat is very oily and taste different from turkey. They also had all the Chinese traditional foods.
I think it was duck but it was probably goose.

Yup. That is why I use garlic, lime, lemon, parsil, black peppercorn and salt in my duck. If you stuff it with this, bind it together like on your turkey and slow cook the duck for aprox 6 hours at 90 to 120 degree celcius (turn down to 90 when the skin starts to cook and up again when it stops). Then you can melt off most of the oil like taste. I suspect that it is the same with turkey for me, if it is roasted whole. I have tried it a couple of times, and it has this strange perfumed taste. However turkey meat cut into cubes and cooked in a spicy sause. Now that is what I like to use turkey for.

But then again. It all depends on were one grew up, and what one is used to eat. Speaking of used to eat. In Australia you can get meat from black swan. I am actually curious on how swan meat taste like. My great grand father used to hunt them, before they became protected here in Denmark. And my father have told me a couple of times, that he used to say that swan meat is the best bird meat one can eat. Just imagine.... A whole roasted swan on the Christmas table. That must look extremely impressive. Dang... 😳

A yellow saltwater taffy... for a few seconds I thought I had covid (again?) but after a few more chews I realised it was banana when I was expecting lemon 🤣

I'm a bit bored here...so, I'm gonna ask you a simple question here.

Today, I had two ham and cheese sandwiches on bread with mustard. The mustard was totally empty and I had to toss it in the trash.

What favourite meal do you like to eat for lunch? 😀

Post your thoughts. I love to hear it. 😄

Specifically for lunch, today I had cold southern fried chicken broken up in a bun with pickles and mayo... yesterday I couldn't be assed much and had PB&J on multigrain.

I think my favourite is some nice big sandwich with some good mayonnaise, ham and lettuce and a lot of ground pepper fresh bread but I'm not that picky.

Damn I'm hungry now, it too late to eat lunch at 9 pm? :-s

Awesome! 😀

I'm about to have dinner later tonight. I kinda have a feeling that it's too late to eat lunch at 9 PM, because I'm gonna be having roast for dinner. 😀

I don't eat lunch. A 2-egg, 2-cheese, 3-bacon "croisant-wich" with a cup of coffee and a class of juice (diluted 50% water) at breakfast holds me practically until dinner time. My wife jams various fruit or vegetable down my gullet periodically throughout the day, though, when she's not at work.

"Somebody" posted whether bacon was mentioned after me... but they deleted their post.

Yes, I said bacon!

Took a last shot at making fried noodles without the use of a recepie and without reading any tips. Finally managed to do it, after many tries and errors. I know it is not much in this photo, but I can always build upon this. So this is kind of the first step, just to get the taste right.

During summer we usually keep it simple, I like to make a smash burger or a sallad with halloumi cheese. Fried chicken is a favorite as well but because of an overly active toddler I don't usually barbeque. Ihave one of those air fryers and it is actually damn good for frying chicken. I'd recommend it to someone who likes fries and try to cut down on oil.
