Exactly how much depends on the individual purchase. These were pretty bespoke systems. I don't have an example of the Crimson, but I once bought an Origin 2000 for EUR 1 that originally cost DFL 2M (EUR 900k). In 1998 that bought you 12 CPUs, 12GB RAM and a disk array of about 1TB.

The Crimson was older, so the numbers were smaller, but the prices weren't Factors in price were CPU speed, which of the many GPUs were installed, how much RAM, how much HDD and other I/O options. Also, prices differed per market. EU cost a lot more than US.
