I have always been an AMD guy although I am aware how good and how sucessful are Intel's Core 2 Duo series.
Intel i7 5960X
Gigabye GA-X99-Gaming 5
8 GB DDR4 (2100)
8 GB GeForce GTX 1070 G1 Gaming (Gigabyte)

I'll be upgrading to a C2D/C2DQ (Maybe C2D E6850, or Q6600/Q6700 until a new quad comes out) with a bearlake chipset (1333 FSB) the middle of this year.
From everything I've seen from AMD there's no way they can push out chips fast enough to meet demand.
Barelona is projected for a paper release in Q3/2007 and vendors are stating that systems with the chip will not be available till Q4/2007 or Q1/2008.
Lots of people are stating that Amd will not even make it to 45nm until the end of 2008 while Intel will.
I don't see AMD being able to compete with Intel on price when barcelona comes out. People keep on comparing Barcelona vs C2D/C2Q but who cares? We really have far more performance out of the C2D chips than we really need at the moment. I also only upgrade to tech that that's been out for awhile and that I've tested, I've played around with the 975 and C2D/C2Q chips at work and they are great.
