Interesting... I just read AHI + PC Soundcard support was available for both classic and PPC amigas... But only for PCI soundcards.
So far doesn't seem possible for any non-DOS bridgeboard, like Omnibus, Crosslink, etc... To do ISA + DMA access to/from the Amiga chipset, thus no accelerated ISA sound support possible from AmigaOS.
PCI slot. That would be a modern bus board, introduced after commodore. Dave Haynie did air his thoughts on PCI in a mail stream, talking about it being better than Zorro3. But PCI was not a bus that Commodore ever used. The bridgeboard that I am referring to, is one of them PC boards, that made you able to use the else inactive ISA slots that were in the 2000. But I dont know it there were any driver that bridged the ISA slot to the Amiga system through the PC card. If there is such software, then I am missing knowledge.
Some of the Amiga guys inside Commodore, thought that Zorro3 was superiour to PCI. They were so dead set on Zorro3, that not even the inventor of Zorro3 (Haynie) could make them think something else. It is a well known mail stream that have been public for years now.
Zorro3 is actually more like EISA, with the advantage of better and more robust autoconfiguration.of resources. Basically the same performance.
Don't eat stuff off a 15 year old never cleaned cpu cooler.

Today was a good day.
After a little scrubbing and checking for capacitor juice it became a great day.
And once the system was put back together it became a great day.
Very nice. The IIGS was a rather nice system. A friend of mine when we were kids had one we always had a blast playing games on it.
This Compaq Deskpro 50M isn't currently powering on but the hardware inside still makes the $100USD shipped asking price worthwhile...
Crap, that must have been hard work, loading all those MPEG-1 video files zipped across floppies 🤣
Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

I didn't pull it out yet but there's a Buslogic SCSI card in the machine, so it was probably used with an external SCSI CD-ROM drive.
I did not have time for the hobby a lot the last few months (years). But I went thrifting this weekend and usually there is no nice retro computer stuff to be found, but this time I found some exotic storage for 1 euro each 😀
1982 to 2001
Took delivery of a Roland MT-200 and pair of MA-12C speakers last week.
Speakers sound geat, but the MT-200 has some loose power & audio ports so it will need some minor repairs to get it working perfectly. Disk drive seems to be working fine.

Today I learned that there are PCMCIA hard disk drives.
Also, those low capacity CF cards should be very useful for old computers that don't support HDDs bigger than 504MB.

Awesome deal. When I look at PCMCIA storage it seems prices are still held high by industrial demand.

I almost bought a DB50XG with an old SBAWE32 PnP in an eBay auction, but bid bots jacked up the price at the end to nearly $300, when it was not even $130 a few minutes before closing.

How is bidding by bots "jacking up" as opposed to "outbidding you"?
Actual fraud aside, the buyer will pay those $300 and the seller the percentage for $300.
I like to (manually) snipe myself sometimes, but aren't you perfectly free to bid $301, days in advance?
BTW., strictly by market value, that is a normal price nowadays.
And old MIDI board especially are just trophy items. If you want the sound, there are new ones around.
I like jumpers.
It generally isn't "bots" bidding the price up.
It is people using sniping services. They enter their max bid and then the sniping service bids for them right before the auction ends.
Yahoo auctions even has snipe bidding built in.

Very nice, Do please rebuild that power supply, no matter what even blown. Replaceable board instead of a power supply box, this is unusual thing. Replacement power supply board is nearly impossible, don't try to find one I advise.
Had been a 2 years search and I had to buy second deskpro/M computer that has a power supply in it and this came from Rome, Italy. Not kidding. Paid lot.
Cheers,
Great Northern aka Canada.

I snipe anything I expect to go for over £10. Even if my bid is £100s. That way, people who bid in small increments don't have time to outbid me. I bid what I can afford. I'm not a robot (although some who know me would say differently!). Sniping gets me some better prices than if I just bid openly and early.
See my graphics card database at www.gpuzoo.com
Constantly being worked on. Feel free to message me with any corrections or details of cards you would like me to research and add.
There was a boxed Audigy 2 ZS on auction recently with a bid of $32. Some bums started a bid war during the last few minutes and jacked the price up over $100. They were all there watching the listing. There was no need to inflate the price like that right before it closed.

Shill bidding is a thing too, have had a few auctions where that has occurred, you can quickly tell when someone is a shill bidder.
Pisses me off so I start using a sniping tool on a fake account with such auctions just to fuck with them, I dont know why they do it, its so damn obvious.
Perhaps sellers dont realise that buyers KNOW when the seller is shill bidding on their own items, a fresh buyer account with 100% activity on your auction and only your auction is a pretty fucking huge giveaway.
Just sniped two OPL3 cards for 21€ shipped.
Sometimes searching for generic terms like "convolute" in the PC hardware section can get you incredible deals.

Yeah, that's why I do it.
