Haven't found general hardware questions topic so here's new topic 😬.

To get to the point, I built P233 MMX system with QDI Titanium IB+. This board is interesting to me because it has both AT and ATX power connector. Initially I used ATX to AT adapter and it worked fine. But it's kinda annoying to shut down the computer manually so I thought why not switch it to ATX and skip the adapter.

It works fine on ATX connector too, but there is one issue. Power led is on when computer is off. Not fully, like at 70%. When I turn it on it goes to 100% brightness. But it's kind annoying.

Has anyone had problem like this one? Or is this normal for this board and ATX power supply?

An archive of the product page from QDI's website (https://web.archive.org/web/19991012061509/ww … 30tx1b_plus.htm) shows as a 'feature': "Support Power LED dimmed when Soft-off" so I think this is normal behavior and I don't see anything in the manual about changing it.

Thanks, so working as intended.

I was checking the motherboard to see if there's some other bad transistor driving this LED for this "feature". Not sure I like that 😅.

Thanks again, I'll have to save that page for future reference 😀.

*EDIT*

I think I may have a workaround 😁, there's also "Sleep LED" header and it seems to work like "regular" power led. It's on when computer is on, off when computer is off.
And probably blinks when computer is in sleep which is "regular" power led behavior and just what I need 😀.
