Eat your heart out Mac Pro.

My 486 has Wheels too.

But they did not costs $1000.

I still have this old computer caddy from around 1993.

Its Universal design and would work with countless computers. And it only coast about $35 New.

So the Turtle Beach Monte Carlo isn't a proper Turtle beach product? It seems to be 100% identical to the Reveal version.

I am going to add an CF card to this 486 build.
I did not want to do it but I have run out of disk space and I want to run more games and programs.
I am still going to keep the hard drive but it will be off-line. ( Not connected ).

I have a confession.
It’s the Keyboards that keep me coming back to these old 486 computers.
I just like the BIG Clickity Keys on the boards.

I always seem to wake everybody up at night with those keyboards

Hey the old 486 can still go online and surfs the web pretty good with HTML 2.0 friendly websites.
Guys this computer is super quiet and rock solid performance and reliability.
I wish I had this computer back in 1993.
The Sound Blaster Pro 2.0 plays sound clean and with-out noise. Very Nice audio.

My Setup:
OS- Windows-3.11
Tcp/IP-b patch
I.E. 5.0 for Win3x
486dx4-100
3com 3c509b network card
16mb of ram but only 8mb is required.

My Retro computer WiFi Network setup.
Using the Linksys 4-port Wifi Extender Switch ( RE-9000 ) wired to my computer 3com 3c509b Network card using Cat-5 Ethernet cable.
I can get pretty good network speeds ( Full Duplex 10 base-T )

The 3com has no problems negotiating a speed with the Linksys gigabit switch as the Linksys must be backwards compatible
All the way back down to 10mb/s.

Thats my assumption as I could not find any documentation on this.

I have been using these Cisco/Linksys devices ( routers and switches ) since the 1990’s and they work fine.
Very reliable and easy to use.
