I had a monitor shipped that way not too long ago and it looked like it could have survived almost anything.

I was looking for a V1, then this 6MB Miro came up. The extra memory is not very useful in practice, but it looks cool... I am having a chipset heatsink laying around from an old 440BX board, maybe it will fit on the TMU.
And I will have to fix me a VGA cable with a 9 pin mini-DIN connector.

Supposedly there are some games like POD that have graphical glitches when there is too much VRAM or something with 3dfx accelerators.

For early 3Dfx cards this could be dealth by adding SST_TMUMEM_SIZE=2 environment variable, thus allowing Glide games having issues to work fine.

A s**tload of NOS accessories for AT/XT clone cases and XT-class motherboards... Not really "bought" - more like I received them for free. Those are some left-overs from a company which build and serviced PCs in the late 80s/early 90s in Poland. I also got a NOS amber MDA/Hercules monitor in the same bunch but I will show it some other time.

Also this screen filter... I hated them 😁

Wow, I actually (very vaguely) remember those Syquest drives from way back. Never had one though, it was one of those boutique peripherals I couldn't afford, like Zip and Jaz drives, but I did end up getting an Orb SCSI drive later on. Back when 2 GB on a removable disk was mind blowing, 🤣.

Don't think so, unless you meant 640MB then yes the smaller capacity MO disks should work in the larger capacity MO drives

Those MO drives are sleek and superior, I owned a Fujitsu internal SCSI drive with one Sony 230MB MO-disc. Same tech as MiniDisc of course, but too expensive to be successful. MiniDisc as a music system did not fail if you ask me. I still regret I sold my Sony MZ-RH1, how stupid could I be.

But thanks for confirmation! Now i have at least one disk per every "interesting" drive i have: SyQuest 3,5", MO 3,5", LS-120, ZIP 100 (i have 250 disk as well, but no drive).

I bought this Radeon 9250 DDR 256MB PCI card this week in my search for a really good PCI or PCIe graphics card fully compatible with Windows 95 and my Core i5-3570 overkill system. I wanted something that handles DirectX 8.0 and widescreen resolutions (up to 1080p). The card arrived in good condition, but the cooling fan won’t spin on its own, unfortunately.

It took a lot of trial and error, but I finally found a driver that recognized the card in Windows 95 (both Retail and OSR2): ATI Catalyst 3.7 for Windows 9x. While this driver only addresses 128MB of the card’s 256MB of VRAM, it does at least accelerate Windows 2D and 3D without crashing and it provides widescreen resolutions. The driver is meant for Windows 98 and Me, so it throws up a USER32.DLL error at boot-up. Otherwise, the driver seems to work properly.

The card gives me a solid 60 FPS in Thief 2 at 1280x1024 and runs Unreal Tournament smoothly even at 1080p. I also got a score of 6349 in 3DMark 2000 at default settings. Not too shabby for an entry-level PCI card of the era.

If I had one complaint, it’s that the Cat 3.7 driver has OpenGL support somewhere between awful and non-existent. Some games like Jedi Knight 2 and Return to Castle Wolfenstein refuse to start while MDK 2 runs at 5 FPS. This doesn’t happen when I test the card in Windows 98 with newer drivers, so it must be an issue with Windows 95, OpenGL, and/or the older driver.

I don't know if there's some super bad config of 9200 and 9250, but I noticed before in Notebook review benchmark tables the mobile versions frequently get hammered by the previous 7500s, 7000s, and the following x200 x300 mobile versions which nobody rates huge anyway. Real bad scores in some games, don't know if it's curable by driver selection, better BIOS, registry tweaks, or what.

No audio in for the RGB line and that can be arranged easily by installing a 3.5mm jack and only have mono audio directly to the amp. There might be a mod for that, however. The Sony emblem is missing and I might be able to find one somewhere.

Got this pack yesterday.

The ad had some low quality pics with somewhat dusty parts and a title reading "Assortment of retro cards in unknown condition"; deatils listing "Two old sound blasters, a video card, some pentium processors and memory sticks, and three networks cards of unknown speed"...

You could spot a SB Live, an ISA sound card and at least two 256 MB SDRAM sticks which I happen to need ATM, so I decided to take my chances.

None of these will be mind-blowing but I think I still got a nice deal...
While the "network cards" where actually PCI and AMR *modems* and two of the processors got busted in shipping, I had no particular interest in those and I did get all (preliminary) working SDRAMS, a CT4380 Live! and a working ¿"SB 16"? CT2940 with OPL chip.

The micros are some low to modest 478 and 775 models I suppose?... I didn't look too much onto them.

Celeron 430 1.8 GHz
Pentium 4 631 3.0 GHz
Pentium D 915 2.8 GHz

Oh, and there's an MX440 wich will be handy as I just discovered the one I´ve been saving *for years* is artifacting on me (darn it!).

I paid for the whole pack what you could expect to pay here for a reasonably priced "SB Live!" or for both 256MB sticks alone. This doesn´t happen often to me 😀

That is indeed a really good SB16 model. It has the Vibra Pro chip, is very low noise but comes with that relatively rare, square low-power OPL3 - many did not and relied on shitty emulation.

Ebay picture looks almost black and some others on the web look black and this one looks at least darker than many.
Were those differences batches, different production facilities or did they simply rip open a different shade of clay that day?

Ideal chip to test S7 boards - passive cooling, easy to handle, no heatsink attachment needed.
But still, I'm wondering if I could get that heatsink off. Pretty sure, but without scratches all over it? Any tricks?

I've had really good luck with the freezer method. I usually put the parts in the freezer over night and then the heatsink general twists off without much effort. But this is a your mileage may vary situation.
