It supports Intel 64 vut unless I'm mistaken, it has a 32 bit bus. Not totally clear. Regatdless will the average jo-blo socket 775 mobo support it?

I thought there were at least a few actual 32 bit (non 64 bit) lga 775 cpu's. Anyone know?

Hmmm thought one of the early Celerons was (like D 331 or E1400) but no, all are 64bit instruction AFAIK....

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

Thanks PC Hoader ! The Celeron D 3xx J (330J, 335J, 345J, 350J) are also sco775 and 32bit Prescotts. I knew there were a few Celery 775 32bit and should have looked it up better before I posted before 😁

added: average jo-blo socket 775 mobo = No ! The board requires soc775 FC-LGA6 (not the earlier FC-LGA4 afaik) and a BIOS that supports a 3040. and that cpu is 64bit
https://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Xeon/Int ... 3040).html
These boards list the cpu as supported:
ASUS P5B-VM and ASUS P5B-VM with board rev and proper bios
https://www.asus.com/supportonly/P5B-V/HelpDesk_CPU/
ASUS P5PL2/C not P5PL2 plain:
https://www.asus.com/supportonly/P5PL2C/HelpDesk_CPU/
Most Intel Intel DG33 and DG41 with proper BIOS......
