I have a 6200 AGP that won't boot in my Gateway 2000 G6-233M machine, which has an AGP 1.0 slot (2x, I think it would be.)

One of my 6200 PCI video card work fine though.

Any idea if the 6200 will even work in an AGP 2x slot? Google seems iffy on it.

The problem could easily be that the card draws too much power for that motherboard: "One practical matter which must be considered is the fact that some of the original AGP 1.0 motherboards do not provide enough power to operate some newer AGP video cards reliably. For example, some of the original motherboards using the first chipsets which supported AGP (like the Intel 440LX and 440BX) can become unstable if you install video cards which draw lots of power through the AGP slot."

After watching many YouTube videos about older computer hardware, YouTube began recommending videos about trains - are they trying to tell me something?

Yes that may be it. It's an old 440BX board. I'll suffer along with the PCI video card I suppose...

You may have better results with GeForce 6600/6600GT which have external power connector.
