Update, I was successful at replicating Adrian Black's success on the Mac Classic and then repeated the process on the even easier route for a Macintosh Plus.
To top it off, I got a powered, cheap HDMI splitter and a HDMI capture USB stick, so I can stream truly olden gems (think 1984-1985) on the internet! Some of these games run in emulators, but not with 100% accurate sound (a prime example of this is Archon which does a lot of wizardry with direct programming of the sound buffer, I suspect, as opposed to just playing a snd resource like was standard a few years later).

I started my own channel to share these black and white games and more here, 1Bit Fever Dreams: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9YYXWX1SxBhh1YB-feIPPw.

Here is the setup shown in action in a YT short: https://youtube.com/shorts/DwQafL_6ghA?feature=share

Indeed, strange Output.

If i set the Card to HGC and hockup HGC Monitor the Picture is also rolling.

Composite is fine on TV Set.

very odd indeed.
If i read the graph correctly, it would imply you're getting pulses of around 250~333 ns ( 4 - 3 MHz) on your vsync. That's way beyond spec for a simple HGC adapter/monitor 😏

Right to repair is fundamental. You own it, you're allowed to fix it.

Is anyone currently selling these fully/mostly assembled? I've recently resurrected 3 IBM 5150s with various video cards (ATI EGA Wonder 800+, IBM CGA, Paradise CGA, and a couple of mystery monochrome cards), and will be working on a Tandy 4000 next. The old monitors have seen better days, so I'm looking for a relatively inexpensive way to use the many flat-screens hiding around the house with these machines. TIA.

Look for seller "marminsky" on eBay, he has them in stock every once in a while, or maybe when you ask him. Item is called "Video Converter RGBI to HDMI/DVI - IBM 5150 5160 XT 5170 (MDA/CGA/EGA) to HDMI" in his list of items, at least mine was.

EDIT: Found this link on the project homepage which lists some additional sellers: https://github.com/IanSB/RGBtoHDMI/wiki/Assem … boards-for-sale

Why not hook it up to a KVM switch?

I ordered one of these and it arrived today. What a fantastic device. I'm testing it with a CGA card for starters, but I have MDA and EGA cards to try too - which I've never been able to try because I don't have the CRTs. Out of the box, all I had to do was set the correct input profile (from the Acorn default to PC MDA/CGA) and I had perfect, crisp integer scaling on my Dell 2007FP. Just excellent.

I bought from Sellmyretro user Messe at that link. I think he's the same guy running that ebay UK account - but it's WAY more expensive from ebay due to fees, global shipping program etc.
