[Solved] PC not syncing time on boot

Hi,
I have a problem with my retro '90s assembled PC with these specs:

  • CPU: Pentium MMX 233MHz
  • RAM: 64MB SDRAM
  • Video: Matrox Mystique & 3Dfx Voodoo 1
  • Audio: Integrated CMI8330
  • Storage: HDD 2GB
  • 2 Floppy drives and 52x CD-ROM drive
  • Motherboard: PCChips M575
  • OS: Windows 95 / Tiny Core Linux

After doing some maintenance, it doesn't sync time on boot anymore; instead, it keeps the last shutdown time.
I've tried to change the CMOS battery but didn't get any result.

What can be the cause of this problem and how can I solve?

Maybe this issue has something to do with the maintenance you did.
What exactly did you do?

Nothing complicated: I just changed my IDE CD-ROM drive configuration from primary slave to secondary master.

Nevermind, I solved.

It was probably that metal thing, at the center of the slot, that was not raised so it did not make contact with the battery.

I slightly raised it with a screw and now the PC seems to sync time.
