Picked up an IBM PS/1 today and I love it! Just need an adlib (or clone) sound card for it.

Nice! I had my eyes on this auction as well and was considering bidding, glad to hear it went to another Vogons member 😀

I would love to read more about this system if you can provide more details about it, these seem rather uncommon with the ISA expansion chassis.

I also recently acquired a PS/1 2011 but I have yet to test it 😀

Very nice system u got in there (not a fan myself of the shitty IBM MCA standarts, such on PS1/ PS2), but the system it is nice one..

Today`s score.. total cost 26 euro (SHITting included)
The parts are very dirty, there is a bit of rust on the Voodoo, will see if i can replace that metal part of the VGA connector. Aside from the rust and dirt all cards are working great, and are fine no broken or missing caps SMDs and stuff, the fans of these GF3 are even spinning fine 🤣... Another thing that catched my attention is how heavy these Chaintech cards are, it appears they weight about as double as regular GF3 card 🤣 just 🤣..... And i have Elsa Gladiac 920 (sadly reference look, not the nice black PCB with red heatsinks..) that card is alot more light, and Palit GEforce 3 TI200 again also more light... So bravoo Chaintech, nice cooler + coloring and overall looks...

Chaintech GEforce III TI200
Chaintech GEforce III TI200
3Dfx Voodoo III 2K AGP

That shitty sticket on the back of the Voodoo III pissed me off, as the morons did cover the important 3Dfx logo, i got hard time finding if this is STB systems 3Dfx or it is an STB nVIDIA Riva card (yeah imagine that, once upon a time, i found a STB card looking like a voodoo, and it was shitty nVIDIA Riva..), but managed to spot the small print on the back of the card barely with the 3Dfx on it...

No MCA in those PS/1, that's ISA. More like PS/2 30 than PS/2 60

I would be very, very happy with that shitty sticker, as it probably helped to ensure no one else spotted it. Am hoping to get my hands on a little bit of exotic hardware in a similar way at the moment. A completely beat up "old computer, just for parts" has one very interesting part indeed in it (well, two if you count the 3-digit speed display too). Will show off here if the seller actually responds and I get it 😀

Hmm interesting as i think IBM did straight go to MCA after their XT systems, as they did not like at all that everyone did copy them, but i did not research about that, so i am not sure really. But the whole PS/2 line up i think was MCA standard only.. Not to mention they are so limited my 486 PS2 have maximum of 16MB of memory 🤣 .. Meanwhile i can get even more memory on an 386 system... Still his system is very nice seems in pristine condition as well..

Thing is the seller did have picture on his AD only on the GEforce 3 cards and some others, the Voodoo III came up in pictures he sended me, as i did ask if he have more parts, so no one was going to spot the Voodoo, as it was missing in his AD pictures... Still low quality pictures and stickers dont help in knowing what some seller have... If i was going to this seller personally i was going to see the 3Dfx no problem..

All that space in the top expansion chassis just for 3 cards? 😬 Seems a bit of a waste, or is there more to it?

Literally that's it 😀 but the PC is pretty small!

When one is not enough. 😁

20(18 pictured) NOS Western Digital WD1600AAJB Western Digital Caviar Blue 160GB 7200RPM 8MB Cache IDE / PATA / ATA.

The performance of the WDs is top notch. They are probably single platter and short stroked. Look at that HD Tune graph. Plus 70MB/s for about 75% of the graph. These will fly on a retro system. Tested on a i815EP + Celeron 1000A 1333.

Also 20x NOS Kingston KTH-VL4/64 64MB SIMM 72 60ns. 2x32MB. HP(R) P/N: D4543A

Also 10x NOS Kingston KTH5365/128 128MB PC100 SDRAM. HP(R) P/N: D5367A

This makes me feel like a HW distributor. 😁

They are put for sale on the local OLX site. The price is low. Around 30 EUR including shipping. I have a guy that said that he wants 10 pieces but I haven't got the order yet so I am not holding my breath. 😀

They are too many for me too but I wanted them all. I paid a fair amount for them. We'll see if and when they sell. 😁 At the very least, I'll include one with the kits I started to sell. 😀

I'm hopeful when get this it'll run at 4x on my Abit VP6 but I also have a P4 Prescott system to run it on to justify keeping it for useful computing.
Fingers crossed it completes benches as ebay says its: Gainward Nvidia GeForce 6800 GS 512MB NA/6800GXTD52-PM8370 fortunately I have PCI-E power connector PSU on both PC's. An 8x AGP card I beleive. As I remember they're not the best but not the worst and it'll be interesting to see it score a bench on both p3 and p4 systems.

GS = Golden Sample.
Some of those had more and/or faster memory making them very easy to overclock.
Always loved the look if the Gainward cards back then =)

I think it doesn't mean Golden Sample here, but GS as a model with NV42 GPU (110nm, 12pp, 5vs). The older NV41 was 130nm and used in the 6800. Both for PCI-E natively - for AGP was needed HSI bridge, natively for AGP was GPU NV40 (130nm, 16pp, 6vs).
But I could be wrong.

Got a nice little haul recently, I think I now have all the major ESS sound cards, I already had the 688F+968F, 1868F, 1869E and 1938 Solo-1 and picked up the Allegro, Canyon3D and 1688F+968F in this lot. Just need the Maestro and I think I may have all the major models, also grabbed a Sound Blaster CT 2810 that was going for cheap along with a Yamaha 718-s.

I have a thing for ESS sound cards, have always found them to be exceptional replacements for creative cards, the Terratec card I think was the big grab, it looks amazing if the photo is true.

The odd one out in this haul was a 64mb GeForce 256 DDR which I saw pop up for 125 bucks, which is considerably less than the other 32mb models listed right now.
