I'm trying to get GUS Extreme and Roland MPU-401AT to work at the same time. I want the Roland at port 330h and IRQ2 and I'm not going to change that. Now the problem is that McCake does not work with the Roland when GUS Extreme is installed. I've never had that problem with any other GUS card so it must be the ESS ES1688F that does the SB Pro stuff for GUS Extreme.

Can anything be done? There are no jumpers and since the card is not PnP (and that is one reason I want to use it), there does not seem to be any easy way to fix the problem. I tried to find ES1688F datasheet but I only found the short 4 page one that does not contain any programming information. All I need is a way to disable MPU401 from ES1688f or at least change it to different port.

Did you try ESSCFG? That's the standard utility that you should try first.

Its ini file has section with available choices for ES1688

ESSCFG fixed it. There was an option under MPU IRQ settings to disable MPU completely but changing port alone helped as well.
