Hullo, I am trying to get the game Mines of Titan (aka Mars saga) to work with sound. I have launched the game with the launch with vdm option but there still is no sound. If anyone has succeded can you let me know.
I am running xp with a sb live.

PC-Speaker only. You might prefer the C64 original if you need sound. If you can live with speaker sound, DosBox will probably run it best.

Thanks for the reply. I quite liked the music from the c64 version or at least it seemed to fit the game. I decided on the pc version for the load speeds and the fact it does not work so well on c64 emus. Thanks again.

A C64 emulator should have an option to load things quickly (since there is no floppy being accessed) like UAE (Amiga emulator). I assume you've tried these?

Some emulators now have an emulated disk drive that functions as a non-1541 drive to get better load speeds. I'm surprised there are any titles that don't work properly.

Might try the "Frodo" emulator, that has a version that requires a beefy processor, but has maximum compatibility (FrodoSC.exe).
