I have Fujitsu-Siemens Futro s400 and one serious issue. I cannot make sound card to work as intended, actually few cards. Maybe some good soul can help? 😀

I'll update list later as I don't remember all numbers. 🤣
1. Yamaha YMF724 based cards, 4, one has golden pins and chip itself is smaller than regular 724. Actually works but... some games have no sound.
2. Sound Blaster Live! SB 0220, I found CD on vogons - no sound at all in windows and DOS modes.
3. CMI I don't remember number 80 something, common PCI card for DOS, no digitized sound, music only as General MIDI.
4. Solo-1, one identical as philscomputerlab has. Music works, IRQ5 available for card but no digitized sound.
5. Maybe other card?

The problem is only one PCI slot is available and integrated sound card is not good for anything DOS related. I own SB0100 but I don't wanna risk overheating it.

Anyone anything? I'd be glad to finish that Futro. DOS isn't the most important but I'd love it to play classics like DOOMs, Duke Nukems, ROTT, etc.

Thin-client with the strange motherboard? I think its a DMA trouble (no distributed DMA mode or something like it).

Actually it shows something like SiS DDMA or something. 😀

Maybe those cards need the -12v ? According to parkytowers there is no -12v present on the bus....just a guess

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

No idea, with Solo-1 I get conflicting IRQ message for example in Duke Nukem 3D, Duke Nukem has sound and music but hangs right after level is loaded.

Hmm the board uses SIS741 + SIS963 or 964 chipset, basically same as the Jetway J7F3 Mini-ITX (741+964) and the WinFast 741M01C (741+693Lua).
Spent about 20 minutes searching around and it appears XP is the lowest fully supported OS though the Jetway manual claims the driver CD for J7F3 supports Win9x thru XP.
Only diff of 963 and 964 is two SATA ports on the 694, both have 8237A compatible DMA controllers for backward compatibilty according to their datasheets, and the Serial/Parallel ports can be set at standard IRQs (3,4,5,7,etc).
Maybe a BIOS issue ?? Is the BIOS a full functioning BIOS with all the regular Award stuff ?
Was sorta fun learning something about that little box 😀

Late motherboards have DDMA compatibility issues - its an a fact.
I don't think anybody deep check legacy compatibility for cheap thin-client originally developed for WinXP.

Shame Solo-1 failed me.

@Babasha I tried that, music as SB plays but digitized sound is silent or spits IRQ errors.

My other problem with that futro s400 is DVI module, drivers detect second monitor but turning it on under windows' screen management immediately turns it off.

As for now I'm back with this CMI8738 low profile red PCB card.

Ok so I was tinkering with Yamaha YMF724 and that was it, DOOM 1,2, Duke Nukem 2 and really almost all games wotk as IRQs 7 1 5 (5 is for sis GPU...) but Duke Nukem 3D crashes and freezes that terminal, any way to fix this one game?
