Though AUX connector seems not necessary for my Socket 423 motherboard, I wanted proper PSU for it. And finding one with 6pin AT connector is not an easy task. I have one claimed to be 300W, but it's way too light and has only 4 molex connectors (plus 2 FDDs). Plus I wanted the standard 120 mm cooler blowing down the case, not the AT type one.

Here I have 5 molex connectors, 1 SATA and 2 FDD.

Picked up a few desktops for not too much. First of the bunch; a Dell XPS T500 with a voodoo3 3000D. Guess what the D stands for. Frags like new. 😁

To my knowledge yes, but I don't know if there are any differences to a 'normal' 3000. It get just as hot, and it seems that the clock speeds are the same.

Just received a mystery computer (poor seller description) from ebay... The photos indicated a Pc chips M915i mobo, and not much else of interest (visible).
@ 80€ plus shipping from Italy, this was a bit of a gamble.

The package was as bad as it can get, only a cardboard box (no padding or filling material) , luckily the only damage was the hdd/floppy caddy bent.

The motherboard is as expected, an PcChips M915i:

The cool aspect to it is that no chips are soldered in the cache area, so no fake chips for me.... thank you very much ....

I really cant understand why the MB was configured to P24D, having a AMD dx4 in it..... Also some jumpers where missing.

The odd thing is that the MB has only IDE onboard. Also with this machine came a multi IO controller, a sound card and a PCI video card. All in working order. Sadly no cpu cooler (those are becoming scarce).

That looks like an OPTi card with cloned OPL3, nice sound card.

I think u are wrong, as i find from years and years 3Dfx cards, and never found an dead card. Sure some of them had artifacts (x2 Voodoo 3 cards), but it was memory related, there was some of the solder of the mem chips, that did need a bit of work, and then they worked like charm. So the card is prob working 90% guarantee. But usually when someone sells stuff, and he wants more money, but he cant test i offer 2 things, to test the thing, and for me to pay him the wanted price, or if he cant to sell it to me on scrap prices. Ofc some greedy fucks wants alot of money, and they dont want to cut price, test the damn thing, trade or whatever, then i tell them to go fuck themselves, since they are SCUMbags...

This is nasty.. I have luck with most nVIDIA cards, and they work, no artifacts or BS. Still u can try heatgunning that shit and see, if it will work, or send it to hell...

i ignore those typ of ads unless its dirt cheap and there's a profitable out. 100 dollars is too high of a price, if it was 40 then maybe you could flip it for parts if not working

7000 and 8000 series all had horrible solder and were prone to just dying, even if never used and still in a sealed box they can still just up and die after a few months due to the shit solder used.
