Well, maybe try 3 will get me a working mouse and CD drive on my never-launched 486 build.

Yeah, that's way to big for an ordinary modem. Even with that type of integration 😀
486: ECS UM486 VLB, 256kb cache, i486 DX2/66, 8MB RAM, Trident TGUI9440AGi VLB 1MB, Pro Audio Spectrum 16, FDD 3.5, ZIP 100 ATA
PII: Asus P2B, Pentium II 400MHz, 512MB RAM, Trident 9750 AGP 4MB, Voodoo2 SLI, MonsterSound MX300
Got this amazing PSU for my P4 build.
Though AUX connector seems not necessary for my Socket 423 motherboard, I wanted proper PSU for it. And finding one with 6pin AT connector is not an easy task. I have one claimed to be 300W, but it's way too light and has only 4 molex connectors (plus 2 FDDs). Plus I wanted the standard 120 mm cooler blowing down the case, not the AT type one.
Here I have 5 molex connectors, 1 SATA and 2 FDD.

What brand is the psu? Im pretty sure that the fan is set to exhaust air not as an intake.
Picked up a few desktops for not too much. First of the bunch; a Dell XPS T500 with a voodoo3 3000D. Guess what the D stands for. Frags like new. 😁

Does it stand for Dell or something else?
To my knowledge yes, but I don't know if there are any differences to a 'normal' 3000. It get just as hot, and it seems that the clock speeds are the same.

I had one of those 3000Ds. The Dell version lacks the s-video output present on the retail 3000 - that's it.

Ah tnx, missed that detail. More like 3000Dsub15-only then. 😁

Just received a mystery computer (poor seller description) from ebay... The photos indicated a Pc chips M915i mobo, and not much else of interest (visible).
@ 80€ plus shipping from Italy, this was a bit of a gamble.pcchips01.jpg
pcchips03.jpg
[sellers photos]The package was as bad as it can get, only a cardboard box (no padding or filling material) , luckily the only damage was the hdd/floppy caddy bent.
The motherboard is as expected, an PcChips M915i:
M915i.jpg
The cool aspect to it is that no chips are soldered in the cache area, so no fake chips for me.... thank you very much ....
I really cant understand why the MB was configured to P24D, having a AMD dx4 in it..... Also some jumpers where missing.
The odd thing is that the MB has only IDE onboard. Also with this machine came a multi IO controller, a sound card and a PCI video card. All in working order. Sadly no cpu cooler (those are becoming scarce).

Also the case needs some tlc and elbow grease.
That looks like an OPTi card with cloned OPL3, nice sound card.
I'm being saved from temptation. This sixteen megabyte Voodoo 3 has been on my local Craigslist for two weeks. I've never used a 3dfx card, and it would be interesting to see how it works on some of my systems. But it says untested, and $100.00 is a lot for a bit of ewaste should it not work. I thought I had the perfect solution - it must be untested because he doesn't have a system old enough to test it, so I emailed him and offered to bring over a computer to test it with and if I'm satisfied I'd buy the card. But I've received no reply, which makes me think he either knows it doesn't work, or is afraid that it won't, and would rather wait until someone is willing to pay the money for it "As is" so he can maintain plausible deniability. It's similar to someone selling a used car who won't allow you to take it to a mechanic to have them check it over.
After watching many YouTube videos about older computer hardware, YouTube began recommending videos about trains - are they trying to tell me something?
It reads fishy. He wont even show you the bad side and whether or not it has that burnt taco look.
The 7800GS AGP I ordered arrived today, tested but of course no picture of it working. *sob* R.I.P. G71.

Maybe somebody has this PAC machine and needs some parts for it? I'm willing to sell them if it will resurect some intact machine.
Hi @hanjammer,
I have such a machine soon, have to figure out what works - do you still happen to have the parts?
greetings

I think u are wrong, as i find from years and years 3Dfx cards, and never found an dead card. Sure some of them had artifacts (x2 Voodoo 3 cards), but it was memory related, there was some of the solder of the mem chips, that did need a bit of work, and then they worked like charm. So the card is prob working 90% guarantee. But usually when someone sells stuff, and he wants more money, but he cant test i offer 2 things, to test the thing, and for me to pay him the wanted price, or if he cant to sell it to me on scrap prices. Ofc some greedy fucks wants alot of money, and they dont want to cut price, test the damn thing, trade or whatever, then i tell them to go fuck themselves, since they are SCUMbags...

This is nasty.. I have luck with most nVIDIA cards, and they work, no artifacts or BS. Still u can try heatgunning that shit and see, if it will work, or send it to hell...

i ignore those typ of ads unless its dirt cheap and there's a profitable out. 100 dollars is too high of a price, if it was 40 then maybe you could flip it for parts if not working

7000 and 8000 series all had horrible solder and were prone to just dying, even if never used and still in a sealed box they can still just up and die after a few months due to the shit solder used.
