You maybe able to open them in bios editiors to give you clues as to what theyre for.

Prety sure that downloading them and then using something like 7-Zip to open the compressed file will give an decent idea of what they are for.
I made a little script that extracted at least Vaio updates description from .exe files from their version info resources:
http://dose.0wnz.at/ftp.vaiolink.com/PUB/VAIO/UPDATES/
But the BIOS updates in BIOS directory don't have any common identifier to automatically extract a description.

Seems like the mount point issues has re-occured, link in the folder is the german files again and not the drivers.. 😀 I was also getting errors saying I was on a TOR network, but had no issues when browsing with IE, only Chromium based browser.

Aww, crap, the Machine on the network with a NFS Client and Server (Windows Service for Unix) rebooted recently and I forgot to disable the services and this machine always disconnects other NFS shares from the server. Don't know, why it does this, but it seems that it did it again after the reboot leading to 403.
I now disabled the services on this machine, hopefully it won't do it again now.
Thanks for notifying me!
What's the sound chip for Sony PCG-R505GL? If anyone has that laptop, plz share the info, thanks.
Searched on the net and nothing. The only clue is that there is sound drivers for it, Yamaha AC-XG WDM driver, so it could be a YMF753/752, but I hope it be a YMF754🤣.
EDIT:
I also found a PCG-SRX model, P3 815board, with AC-XG driver too. I heard that PCG-SR series have DS-XG chip, what about PCG-SRX?
Toshiba Satellite Pro 4300 - YMF744, Savage IX
Toshiba Satellite 2805-S501 - YMF754, GeForce 2Go
IBM Thinkpad A21p - CS4624, Mobility Radeon 128
main: Intel NUC11PHKi7C Phantom Canyon: i7-1165G7 RTX2060 64G 2T760PSDD
Still not having any luck, searched lots of places but cant find any PCG-F450 drivers (win98) that model is only listed on sony US and CANADA but i tried to search them on the ftp mirrors with no luck

I'm sorry for my bad english.

Copy links for the drivers you need.
Replace ftp:// with http://dose.0wnz.at/ in the URL and you have the appropriate driver.
i.e. Link is:ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/PUB/Downloads/SO/A/SS … 01595000-UN.exe
Change URL to:
http://dose.0wnz.at/ftp.vaio-link.com/PUB/Dow … 01595000-UN.exe
and you have a working download URL.
Regards.
What about stuff that was on download.sony.com instead of ftp.vaio-link.com? I'm looking for (what used to be) this file: http://s02.download.sony.com/US/pc/NVDVID-00220262-0042.EXE
It's the hybrid graphics driver for my Sony VAIO VPCZ12NGX laptop, and I can't get the nVidia GT330M graphics chip to work without it.
Any help would be much, much appreciated, this is a nice laptop that I'd love to have running.

This is a valid point. Without recovery discs, I cannot find the originally shipped drivers on the ftp site. Anyone have alternatives? Thank you!

Perhaps try the driver meant for the 335m that came in the M11X R1?

The ftp seems to be down. Will you have plans to put it back up? Thank you!

It works! Thank you again.
Many thanks to cyclone3d. Wish I had bumped into this thread earlier.
Looks like sonyvaiodriver.com does not have VPCW126AW; the closest model is VPCW121AX that looks identical inside out. All VPCW12 series share the same user's manual; many drivers are shared between Win7 and WinXP, though, or compatible with similar Atom netbooks like MSI Wind U100.
For the record: Sony discontinued all Win7 drivers on 2021/01/01 and the thread title might be updated to reflect that.

Finally finished downloading all the files from the ftp this morning.
I haven't used any of those scripts do give me a index or anything, but here is what I have found with the little bit of looking I have done so far.
The huge plus is that it looks like they have folders for the different laptops / laptop series with all the original drivers. They also have folders for all the original apps.
None of these are listed on the web page at all that I saw.
For the newer-ish laptops they also have the XP/Vista/7/8 upgrade/downgrade packages which is probably also going to be helpful. I really doubt that these are listed on the web page for download.
Another thing I noticed on the web page for a good number of older laptops is that the links they provide for the manuals and spec sheets are incorrect / give a 404 error when you try to download them.
I'm guessing that instead of spending a huge amount of time/money to fix everything to work they just decided to kill the downloads for all the older computers. It will be interesting to see if they wipe the files from the ftp or not.
As I am hunting for some drivers, not provided or available elsewhere, I am wondering if the files you have downloaded are made available someplace else.
Regards,
nandu.

Did you read the full thread?

I'd like to thank you very much for Your efforts . Your mirror helped a lot.
Herzlichen Dank für Deine Mühe. Dein Mirror hat mir sehr geholfen.
Did anyone ever find a solution to drivers that weren't stored on the FTP? I'm trying to find drivers for a recently acquired PCG-C1MWP, but as mentioned earlier in the thread all the drivers on https://sonyvaiodriver.com/?s=PCG-C1MWP are linked like so http://s02.download.sony.com/US/pc/SOOOTH-00825000-US.EXE
No luck finding a Recovery CD for this particular model either.
I did find https://archive.org/details/PCG-C1M-SOFT but I still need a few misc items from sonyvaiodriver.com like the BIOS update.
Did anyone manage to get drivers for the sony UP-DR150 or sony UP-DR200 printers? They were also deleted due to being too old
