Hi all, I'm on the cusp of psyching myself up to get into flashing my ABIT BX6's BIOS, as it's not the most up to date.
I'm confused, though. I found the files here: http://soggi.org/motherboards/abit/BX6.htm, and it recommends:
For flashing the BIOS use awdflash 8.99 (DOS), AwardBIOS Winflash 1.94 (Windows), Uniflash (DOS) or flashrom (Unix/Linux) which can be found under flash tools. Please pay attention to the prerequisites and precautions.
However Winflash 1.94 says "Windows (NT/2000 or later)", and I have Windows 98. But the guide http://www.ecs.com.tw/extra/flashutl/winflash.htm seems to suggest at the top that Windows 98 is fine.
I'd rather not use DOS, as my floppy drive needs some TLC before it'll work. Do I need to install XP? Or is there a version of Winflash suitable for 98?
Thanks
