Hello, good retropeople!

LS-486E Rev. C (the 4xSIMM version) that I just got has a problem with the SIMM1 slot.

- 4MB module = 4MB
- 8MB module = 8MB
- 16MB module = 8MB
- 32MB module = 16MB

There are no obvious problems with the board, no oxidization, no broken traces I can see; it wasn't even that dirty for its age. Manual didn't help, it just says 'up to 128MB'. Only one version of BIOS is known to Internet, and nothing in the settings helped. At this point I've tried literally all of my SIMMs, which only got me tired and bamboozled.

Any thoughts? Any thoughts at all?..

Perhaps the board simply does not support double sided SIMMs

Long story short: someone with the same board reported the same issue. Time to facepalm and move on.
