Samsung Syncmaster CRT randomly turns off

Hello all,

My CRT randomly turns off and goes into LED-blinking-black-screen-mode.

Input signal is ok. The monitor also has problems to turn on. I have to press several times the button. Quite sure it is power button related. When I keep the button pressed the crt stays on.

Any idea of how to fix that?

Sounds like bad capacitor(s) somewhere, or perhaps a bad solder joint. Unfortunately getting access to the main board is likely a bit of a hassle, with variety of cables to detatch and possible metal cage in the way aswell.
