I have an old HP vectra 386/25 with a dead BIOS battery.
I've been able to replace it and boot from the Setup disk from the hpmuseum.net website (http://www.hpmuseum.net/display_item.php?sw=174).

Now most error codes at boot are gone except 0250. This means memory size mismatch.
Even if I set the memory to what's installed (649KB base, 1024KB extended and 384KB reserved), I keep getting this error.

I think I know the source of this problem, the setup utilities on the diskette is C.01.01 and the HP vectra is asking for a version greater or equal to C.02.00.
(I also cant choose the factory installed Super VGA Bd card)

Is there a diskette image out there of the SETUP Utilities for an HP vectra 386/25 with a version higher or equal to C.02.00?

Hmm seems the only place that might have the disk is in Australia and they do not ship out of county...
Is the BIOS an oem Phoenix ? If so their generic setup util might work...

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

Thanks for the hint and utility!
I've tried the attached generic setup utility. It detected the settings in the BIOS but when I save something, I get CMOS configuration error 0280 (added to the memory error 0250).
So I think there is a mismatch between the generic utility and the BIOS RAM organisation.
