I have just install DOSBOX 0.7 on my fresh installed WinXP and it crash immediately after I start it.

I have attached screenshot of an error.

Does anyone have the same problem?

Go into DXDIAG and make sure that DirectDraw acceleration is enabled.
Also go into the hardware troubleshooting tab and make sure that hardware acceleration is set to full.
You may also want to upgrade to the latest video card drivers.
Finally make sure that your desktop color depth is set to 16 or 32bit.

Did you install the latest drivers for your graphics card? You should do so. If you already did that, you could change the "output" parameter in dosbox.conf. Try it with "ddraw", "overlay" and "surface" options.

I've never seen DOSBox crash that way. If DOSBox is correctly installed (all DLL's present, etc.), and the GFX drivers are up-to-date, there shouldn't be any problem launching DOSBox.
