Haven't found topics about this game and the compatibility database only mentions something I've already tested : the game only works with DOS32A instead of normal DOS4GW, otherwise the screen goes black and hangs right after the "enter initials for record keeping" screen (after choosing "new game") either choosing yes or no. Tested with 0.63, 0.65, 0.70 and several core / cycles settings with no positive results.

My question is : after running the game (via DOS32A) the game runs pretty much flawlessly, except all the player's faces (in every team) are the same...!

Would it be possible to get some feedback from anyone who has this game for DOS?

Thanks in advance!

I'm sorry if my english wasn't perfect, it's not my native language 😦

What I would like to know if this anyone else has this problem (every player's faces in the team select screen looking exactly the same, regardless of the team)? I remember playing the same game in real DOS (a few years ago 😀 ) and this never happened.

I downloaded it, tested it, and you're right. I think it's because you're using the CD rip. They probably cut out all the different faces.

Okay I'm right - the rip I downloaded came with a fix made by another group to fix the player faces.

I'd really like to have the original CD, but I can't find it anywhere for sale. 😢

Wish I could find a way to fix this....

[ EDIT ]

Good news! I've spent the last few days hunting for CD versions of my favorite games (quite a few!) and I got NBA JAM TE from Amazon!!! 😎

Funniest thing is the whole CD install routine (after mounting), setting up soundcard, running the game works flawlessly, no need to replace DOS4GW...! 😀

The game has ALL the players faces displayed correctly (not every player alike, blame that and the need for DOS32A to the RIP versions 😈 ), has a damn good soundtrack (great guitar work for a game) and is still a BLAST to play with, just like in the good ol' days! 😁

Only minor thingie is that the players graphics (during the match) tend to "flash" (appear/dissapear effect) as does the scoreboard viewable throughout the match.

As soon as I get more time, I'll tweak it to (near) perfection and I'll post results (and correction) in compatibility database.
DOSBox IS emulating this game just damn fine and proper credits are due to it's makers, developers and testers!!! 😉

Gentlemen, I salute you! 😀

About that "flash" effect, have a gut feeling that it may be a cycles/core issue, otherwise it's a just a minor "nuisance" compared to the fun factor. Will do heavy testing soon, report back later...

Ok, so how do I get the other players faces back? Or where can I download the non-rip version? Anything to avoid buying the cd.
