I don't care about the online capabilities, it's mostly for nostalgia , i found the files on the internet archive "Uploaded by
RIN Archive " but i can't get them to work.

I don't think it supposed to work. Even if you switch steam to offline mode, you have to start it in online mode at least once and you probably can't log in with a client that old.

I was able to use one of the server emulator on the archive for the 2005 version that worked, i was also able to start the january 2007 client, the only one i care now though is the october 2007 one, i can't get that one to start.

For example this one from july has the means to work but it doesn't
There's a virtual server inside that should permit the offline login.
