Got these for dirt cheap 23 euro (SHITting included), they are like brand new in mint condition, gotta love when some ppl take care for their computers and parts, and there is no gunk, no shit, no disgusting stuff, broken elements ect... The interesting part is 2 of them are ATi cards, the other 2 are nVIDIA.. More interesting is, 2 of them are pre-GEforce and pre-Radeon...

GEforce 7600GT AGP (Palit with nice Japan Nichicons..)
Radeon HD3650 AGP (Sapphire with shitty caps as usual)
ATi Rage Ultra AGP (nice did not have this exact model, but instead x2 ATi Rage 128 Pro and Rage 128 Pro All in Wonder..)
nVIDIA Vanta 16 AGP

Very nice... All i want is to find cheap NorthGate Omnikey, since i like to use quality brands, as my daily drivers... I really enjoy using Cherry G80-1000 (made in Germany) (MX Blacks), IBM Model M Gen 2 (made in UK), EPSON (Fujitsu Peerles, made in Japan). I have also shitty Chicony with Cherry MX Blue, the only good thing in that crap keyboard is the switches and the XT-AT switch, aside from that it feel very cheep and plastic, and that is awful.... Will be really happy to find NorthGate Omnikey model 101, one Zenith data Systems, IBM Model F AT/ F122, Cherry G80-1000 with MX Blues and IBM Model M 13 Stealth black, and IBM Model M Gen 0 Industrial grey metal badge, nothing more, nothing less really...

I've been looking for a local InWin A500 for years now and finally someone messaged me saying they have one.

However, I don't believe this is an InWin case, but rather a clone of it?

Grabbed a couple of things for my 98 SE Build, both NOS, still sealed until I opened them.

A QTEC branded ESS Solo-1 sound card, with SB-Link pads. Going to experiment with adding a header as the motherboard has the SB-Link connector.

A Belkin PCI Network card, gigabit with 98SE drivers according to the box. Should be interesting.

Thank you.

Here is a photo of the entire 500 series. Yours looks to be a clone. I'd still grab it of course. Nice looking clone.

I've installed the card and it works well. Havent tested in DOS mode yet, but its installed the DOS mode drivers under 98SE. Also installed the Software Wavetable.

I extracted the drivers and a couple of other things from the CD, you can download that here from my google drive:

QTEC 552S Ess Solo-1 Drivers.zip 7Mb

Also imaged the entire CD, ISO format:

552S_V10.iso 220Mb

Hope this helps 😀

A Compaq CDR-8322B 32x CD-ROM drive to go in my Dell Dimension XPS M233S. More period accurate than the (broken) CD-RW drive that's currently in there!

I handled a lot of A500 cases back in the day, that looks like a knock-off to me.

2 sticks of micron 16gb 2133mhz ECC ram for my z440 so that I have quad channel for£34. Probably would've been better spent on nvme and pcie adapter... Currently have mx500 512gb SSD as storage+boot.
Zotac 3060ti is annoying me with constant 30% fan speed at idle. Miss my gtx 970 gaming zero fan speed at idle for quiet system

Ooh really nice, what's the screen size on that Fujitsu? I've got its later relative the Fujitsu Lifebook B142 - the screen size is around 8 inches, not quite in the same class as the Librettos but a bit more usable with the larger screen size 😀
Since those both started life in Japan, be careful that they're not kept in a box in a hot environment, vinegar syndrome can happen on LCDs that have lived in hot places with no space to vent. (that happened to one of my AST mono laptops stored next to the radiator)
Good that you're stopping there too, I like my collection but it's not like I'm trying to cover specific eras and there's quite a lot of overlap now.

Bought this mystery box.

Very interesting! Make sure to post what you find in there.

Personally, I have a tough time with PCs from that time period. When I see a listing for a 286 or 386 and it's fairly affordable I will always immediately look at the pictures of the back to see what kind of cards it has. If there's no sound card then I automatically assume the owner didn't play many games on it so it is probably very barebones inside... and the ones I see pretty much never have a sound card. Still, you never know... it may have some gems in there. Maybe a 486 upgrade of some kind or some excessively beefy professional VGA card from back in the day. Either way, a functional 386 system with such a nice looking desktop is a great find. 😁

Now for some blitting from the back buffer.
