SOS! The internal speaker in my 486 just went silent. No beeps during bootup and no sound in games. Used to work fine. 🙁 What is the most likely cause? Could it be a software issue or could the speaker itself have gone bust? I’ve checked the connections on the motherboard and they seem to be okay. Also, the cable that powers the speaker also powers the power LED on the front bezel, and that works, so it seems to be getting power.

Any BIOS settings or mobo jumper to control PC Speaker output? Might that the said jumper shorted because it got bent or some card is pushing on it... etc.
