I think it's worth the buy even if only for the case. Good old sturdy desktop beige cases are unobtanium for me, there are only cheap generic mini towers around anymore.

Didn't post a while here. DSP 4.13 so it might deliver some hanging notes in Doom. Oh well, part of the hobby.

Type 2 hanging note bug since it has the CT1747.

It has a ESS sound card on the isa bus.

I think I'm done, won't buy more notebooks, got about 10 of them.

Ooh really nice, what's the screen size on that Fujitsu? I've got its later relative the Fujitsu Lifebook B142 - the screen size is around 8 inches, not quite in the same class as the Librettos but a bit more usable with the larger screen size 😀
Since those both started life in Japan, be careful that they're not kept in a box in a hot environment, vinegar syndrome can happen on LCDs that have lived in hot places with no space to vent. (that happened to one of my AST mono laptops stored next to the radiator)
Good that you're stopping there too, I like my collection but it's not like I'm trying to cover specific eras and there's quite a lot of overlap now.

Thanks for the tips! It's 10 inch, and might be a little more if the port expander attached in the back. the expander has parallel & serial & ps/2 & usb ports. the size make it just playable, unlike libretto which has too small keys and uncomfortable to play with. 😁 Actually it's the first time I bough laptops that had Pentium1/MMX & ISA bus.

Don't worry much about that bug, the CT1747 bus chip that the CT2230 has mostly mitigates it and DOOM works fine when playing the music with the MPU-401 compatible interface it has.

I think the hanging note bug is also only an issue with an external MIDI module. If you're not using one of those, it's a non-issue. It's also possible to use a second card for MPU support, so this isn't a unresolvable, as long as you can dedicate one extra slot.

Got these 2 cards for dirt cheap (as usual for me), in good condition. The cards work, but that damn 7300GT refuses to post on the test system (an early on Radeon HD3650 AGP did the same shit on me on that test system), seems some of these AGP bridge cards just hate the damn VIA chipset or something.. The story with this new for me HD3850 is funny to me.. Since i have x3 HD3850 one HIS IceQ 3 and one Sapphire like this, but in mint condition, did not need to keep a 3 one, so i made local AD to sale it.. A guy that said his HD3850 did brake, and had to meet with me to buy my card, i told him that if his card was not yet in the garbage, to sell it to me for small price, so i can see if i can resurrect it back to life in service of some computer enthusiast such as everyone in this forum.. So he did bring his card, and i did cut a bit of the price of my HD3850 and got his card. Well the card on the picture is after cleaning, it was nasty, with fucking cigarette smoke all over the card (except under the heatsink), damn do i hate when i get parts that are all covered by that shit... But i will anyway sell that card for sure, as i collect only parts in mint/ factory condition, or at least 90% of that, or unless is something really rare and exotic, then i have no choice, till some preserved part drop from somewhere... The strange part is he said his card was crashing after some time in windows, and that he did reflow the chipset with station... But what i found was that, from the x2 DVI port one is working normal, and the second one dont display the red from the RGB spectrum.. But the card works fine in GTA vice city, 3D orb render and some 2D game.. Not sure what is messed up on that DVI port so the red is gone, will try to use 95% alcohol on it, or even WD-40 and brush.. But even if wont get fixed is whatever, the card is working i will just sell it with 30 days warranty, for lower price...

Sadly the original design of that Axle cooler was very nice, but some moron decided to trow that, and slap big ass fan.. OK but where the hell is the missing part, now i cant bring back the card to its original looks, i have fans, but i dont have that flame part... Will figure something out, like always...

Iv had DVI ports on old AIW Radeons do similar things from the DVI to VGA adapters being abused over the years. Annoying on a card that didn't have VGA.

Check for any damaged SMD components near the DVI ports. I have seen the little ferrites (chokes?) get broken open or broken off pretty frequently. My theory is that it happens when people stack heavy cards without anything between them. If the back plate of one card shifts it is very easy to snap off those little SMD parts... and the first ones to get it are the ones on the display outputs.

I have revived a few really nice cards by fixing the little ferrite chokes alone. I think two AGP 6800 Ultras and some others, including high end FX series.

Now for some blitting from the back buffer.

You could also check for cracked solder joints on the underside of the DVI connector, although they might not be visible without a microscope. The fact that the guy reflowed a chip on it makes me suspicious that there is BGA damage.

Well the fact the one DVI port have the whole RGB spectrum,a nd the other not, to me this is from the crap DVI out of the card, as the adapter never did give me any problems .

Did check the SMD components on both DVI ports, they look fine (at least on bare eye), nothing wrong there, like broken, missing or burn out elements nothing..

Well at least one of the 2 DVI ports is having normal colors, so even if i cant fix the bad DVI port with cleaning and brushing, i will just sell it with some discount and extra gift, and 30 days warranty, and it will be good to go.. At least is stable under 2D and 3D, and the one port is working better, so is not a big of a deal.. I have in my collection perfect mint condition the same card, so to me is whatever, i am happy the card is working at all even...

So Christmas seems is longer this year... Got these stuff for 50 euro (shitting included), from x2 different sellers.. Was not looking at all to find/ get LanParty NF4 Expert, as for me the NF4 Ultra-D is more then perfect for my needs.. I have also MSI DIamond s939, and i find it better in terms of build quality to the DFI LanParty... But anyway i got lucky and found that rare, collectible and expensive board for great price.. I wonder what made the LP NF4 eXpert so desired board, that everyone here is looking for it, and in other places i saw like Amibay... Does the eXpert have something alot better on it, compared to the bottom line NF4 Ultra-D... I remember someone said that the eXpert is alot better for OC... Dont know if this Athlon64 x2 4600+ is any good for OC.. I am loking to find Opteron 185, or at least Opteron 180... Did not need really that 320GB SeaGate, but well i am sucker when it comes to big IDE HDD, so i just buy them when i see some for cheap.. And that series 7200.10 of SeaGate is very reliable, never had problems with any of them (have also the 500GB 7200.10 version), so i just buy, when i see cheap... But cant find the biggest size that being Barracuda 750GB IDE... I did also find that the drives from China are worse, then the Thailand/ Singapore, for some reason so yeah China "quality" 🤣 ...

Not sure if i was going to be more happier if the board was instead Fatal1ty AN8 SLI, since i am looking for that mobo, it may not be OC champion, BUT it is more reliable and have better build quality... Or if i did find XGI Volary V8 Duo in box with manual and disk... Or GUS... Next time i will be even more happy if i find GIGAbyte BX2000+, mint condition AOpen DX34R-U, AOpen AK79G Tube, Aopen AX3S Pro (Sweet Kiss, and Che-Che), ATi Rage Fury MaXX........

SeaGate Barracuda 320GB IDE
AMD Athlon64 x2 4600+
DFI LanParty UT NF4 SLI-DR eXpert (damn they could add a bit more stuff to this name such as gaming, Fatal1ty ect...)
3Dfx Voodoo Banshee AGP (yes my favorite Super brand POS lmao)

Yeah, the cover is attached with 4 screws from the card side. Sapphire is so Sapphire...
Have replaced 4 screws to 4 pins + 1 thread. Now the cover can be removed separatedly. It's ugly but I can live with this ugliness. 😀

Got this lot today for dirt cheap 17 euros (SHITting included..). The seller did gut whole Win 95 system, and said he dont know if is still working, so he did sell it as is... Sadly he managed to trow to the garbage the case mouse and keyboard... I hope any of them was not anything good, like some Cherry G80-1000, some cool AT case and M$ mouse...

BIO(shit)star MB-8500TAC-A (not sure what is the deal with the connector next to the CPU, is prob cache or VRM module for Pentium 200Mhz... )
x3 IBM FRU FPM 4MB + Toshiba FPM 4MB (great memory for IBM machines, someone did stole these sticks from IBM, to put it on this shitty system)
Trident 8900CL 1MB ISA
Conner CF30254 IDE ( i will be keeping this HDD for sure... Seems aside from Quantum collector, i will become Conner as well)
Fujitsu M1624TAU 2GB IDE (some idiot from tech media, did feel obligated to put sticker with their shitty brand on the Fujitsu logo SHAME on these morons)
Some USA Fax/ phone Modem ISA (i dont think this kind of parts have any use at all, but prove me wrong)
TEAC FD-55GFR, TEAC FD-235HF (both made in Japan, NOICE, TEAC and Matsushita/ Panasonic are my all time favorite floppy brands, they are just the best of the best..)
200W AT PSU (seems nice quality, wonder if the caps inside are Japanese..)

Dont know why the seller did feel the need of sending this part of the case 🤣 ... That mobo has of these shit soldered ODIN batteries, FK them...

These rarely come up for sale, and when they do its usually a lose card and its never 2 cards and boxes etc, so Honestly I didn't want to pay 200 for this lot, but it was a very fair price. I could easy make my money back.
