I have read somewhere ( http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/comp_list.php?letter=G ) that Grand Prix 2 was 100% supported with DOSBOX but IT IS NOT TRUE !! I wanted to install it but DOSBOX doesn't "want". I launch the install programm, I select the language then DOSBOX becomes all black

Can anyone help me ?

IT IS NOT TRUE

MAYBE IT IS TRUE and EVERYTHING ELSE is USERFAULT? Could be.

How do you mount? How do you install? Did you read the README?
Did you work through the guides?

I did "mount D D:\"
then I did "D:\install.exe"

I read the README more or less ^^

Seems there's a difference between reading and understanding. Well, if you only mount a d:\ drive, where do you want to install the game to? A little hint: have you ever seen a PC without a c:\ drive?

Got it working? The guides are mostly a good startup and work for
the very most of the games.

Use dosbox 0.70 and set core=dynamic as well as cycles=max in your dosbox.conf

Then try playing with the core/cycle settings some more.
What pc/processor do you have?

Then you probably have a p III or similar processor. It might be too slow to play gp2, as gp2 originally needed a pentium to run at reasonable speed.

Me, I have a Pentium Mobile 1,6 GHz (Centrino). The speed is ok and I can play gp2 in svga and with all graphical details.

For me, though, setting cycles=max is not the best solution for this game. Somehow the cycle guessing does not work 100% for this game. It's better if you set the cycles to 65000 or similar, core=dynamic and then AFTER STARTING THE GAME manually set the cycles up to ca. 85000 (for my machine).

you have to play without textures to get a good speed
Dont know why textures tax emulation speed that much (same with Fatal racing for instance)
