I burned a 16K option rom to a 128K EEPROM on a Lo-tech ISA ROM Board. I have it mapped to D000, and set for 32K rom size.

When this Packard Bell boots the option ROM works, but it executes it multiple times in a row.

I padded the remaining space on the EEPROM with 0s. The option ROM code is not repeated on the EEPROM.

I'm a little confused here. It's like it's looping and re-running itself.

Any ideas?

The option ROM I'm trying to use is a DTK EIDE bios found here on Vogons.

Maybe the dump is an overdump that is unknowingly containing mirrors... how many times does it run ?

I looked at it in a hex editor and it doesn't appear to be duplicated. I will double check.

It runs twice. The first time it runs normally and detects all the drives. The second time it loads the disk menu (which it does the firs time) then hangs the machine.

Does it do the same with any other option ROMs ? I.e XTIDE, perhaps the ROM board is having a fault on it...

Looks like XT IDE works normally when burned to the same EEPROM. Must be something with the dump or my BIOS just doesn't like that particular option rom.
