Wow, the old logo turned out great! Nice job!

The bridge actually passes dogital signals, when SLI is active only 1 of the 2 RAMDACS is used (the one that detects the 75R VGA load). The signals passed through the bridge are digital signals from the FBI that go to the RAMDAC and some SLI sync signals.

ty 😀

Check out the ‘e’

Gonna take a lot of work, but I can make the shadow a proper shadow in the copper layer using keep out zones.

I’ll update the previous post with the logo update via post edit.

My need for one has been postponed. So no immediate plans of ordering. You could though 😀

I always thought it was analogue signals interleaved post-RAMDAC which is why the scan-lines are visible.

Only digital signals there, scanlines are visible probably due to some sync issues, in the SLI connector there is a SYNC signal, and only 1 RAMDAC is outputting video, but both RAMDACs are feeding clocks to the FBI (and TMUs from there), so maybe the issue is that there are two freerunning clock sources. I plan to tackle this on a V2 card I'm working ( 2x FBIs, 6x TMUs, 64 RAM ICs, 2x FPGAs, PCIe and HDMI), but it might take a while until I work on it again).

I’ve been wanting to order a bridge for a while, but I think a 1-slot gap version would be better for my build (get some airflow between the two V2s).

Do you have the longer variant with the “old” logo?

Link the logo you like.

I can see about making a longer one.

Oh 🤣. I considered that the ‘new logo’ haha.

Okay. Lemme see if I can whip something up.

Btw,

I had considered making one with three plug ports so that it was universal.

Yay or nay?

It would still I believe only work with two cards. But you would have options

Interesting idea, I’ve not looked into parts availability for floppy connectors, but in theory if there is a socket available you could solder a socket into all three (or more) locations and simply move the actual connector between the sockets depending on which location you needed to use. Sure, this would mean the bridge would sit another 5-7mm higher off the cards, but still.

You’d also have to label one as “card one” or similar as this would be the only connector before the twist in the pairs.

I can’t see needing more than two empty PCI slots between cards (so 4 slots total), but as you say, options.

I also considered 3 plug version but it will block 1 slot 😒

Universal bridge

-bridge two side by side or one or two slots between.

for those of you who may ask. only for 2 cards. not 3 or 4. 😀

I ordered a bunch of PCBs and ordered yours as well, in green and in black. Will post pics when they arrive, but I bet they look great 😀

Took a little longer since I forgot to choose ENIG for the first PCBs and ordered again. Here's how they look:

The logo looks way better in person than in the photos.
As a couple of suggestions:
-remove the 4 vias in the corners as they serve no purpose and just ruin the aesthetics a bit
-the traces should be less wide, especially L2 signal traces, as they are sandwiched between ground planes, the impedance will be very low, I'd just place all the signals on the bottom layer and have L3 as ground reference.

why on earth would you pay extra for ENIG on this?

So the '3D' of the old 3Dfx logo has a golden surface giving it a 3D effect?
