I'm on Vista and I have a little (little) experience with DosBox, and I managed to get the old game Cyberia running. Audio sounds good, controls are working thus far, but whenever the game tries to automatically save at one of the many waypoints, the emulator goes to the prompt and says "cannot save log file."

I am running the game in DosBox by enabling CD-ROM support, mounting my CD-ROM drive (e:\) as c:\ and then running the "cyberia.exe" file.

I guess this is happening because the game is trying to save the file and it can't create a directory as it normally would to hold the save files? I'm not sure. Can you help me out?

What the game is apparently trying to do is create a save file on the CD-ROM drive (which you have mounted as C, which is usually a hard drive). So try this instead: Mount an empty directory as your C drive (C:\Temp, for example) and then mount your CD-ROM drive as D. Then Cyberia can create its save file on your C drive (the empty directory) and it won't crash.

Thanks for the help! Your solution wasn't exactly the answer, but it basically was. I mounted the CD-ROM as D:\ like you said and created a c:\temp folder that I mounted as C:\. Still didn't work, but then I "installed" Cyberia into the c:\temp folder from DOS-BOX and all is well. Should be a good nostalgic night playing Cyberia....

Well, I'm glad I could help (even though I don't even have the game =P)!
