I used:
'mount d /volumes/(cdname) -t cdrom'

Once I had mounted it, it said ''Error code 9009: you have to invoke SwapDir=d:/path...''
Well, I tried to set a path for the setup to run (the 'install.exe') but it didn't work.
So I tried copying all the cd files to a folder in my desktop (and it did work!), the installation began. Or at least appeared all the settings but then I had some trouble whith the setup process itself.

I want to play Time Comandoooooooooooooooooooooooooo =(
And I'm quite sure that my questions point to A specific game, but the whole thing started when I didn't know how to mount a cdrom in mac 😁

Mount someread+writeable directory as your c drive, so the installer
can place the temp files somewhere.

ok. I've read your guide (thanks!). But I still have some problems with the game itself! It took me years to install it. However, when I finally could, I realised I was not available to run it.

Now:
I go to DOSBox and mount the c drive (where the game was installed) like this:

'mount c /volumes/(user)/documents/(paucom)'

There, I have two folders: 'Time' and 'Timecomm' (this last one is where I have to run the game from).

Then I do:

' c: '

' cd timecomm '

' dir.exe '

(results) ' timeco.exe ', ' timereg.exe '

I chooose 'timeco.exe' but it appears an error (or just a useless message):

Looks okay to me. Maybe someone else who has the game can give it a try?

Tried every way I could think of to mount the CD. (could be some other possible ways to get it mounted under Windows but I use Linux instead). Even tried the label for the first time.
This is the first game I can think of that I've had trouble getting dosbox to simply recognize the CD, and I've played more than a few.
I even get the same error trying dosemu which uses a completely different way of dealing with cds.

As a matter of fact I wasn't able to play this game back when I ran DOS.
Can't remember the error but it could have been this.
I seem to recall that the solution the company offered was to change the order of my drives. Not the drive letters but how the hard drives were connected inside the computer.
I never bothered trying that.

I found a google cache of someone that was able to run it using a CVS of dosbox about a year and half ago

The version I have includes the Windows version and came with Activision Game Vault 2.

Something weird. If I have my DVD drive mounted as well as the CD even if the DVD's not mounted under dosbox I get a segmentation fault and crash dosbox.
If I don't have the CD mounted or improperly I get the error "No CD in CD-ROM drive(s)." followed by the "Time Commando (Jul...".

Didn't try making an iso and mounting that.

Just checked and there are 2 audio tracks on the CD. I've had trouble getting dosbox to spot CD tracks for other games. Could be related.

Thanks dougdahl. Sometimes an CUE image is the only solution to these problems.
