I have a Magitronic A-B341 386 motherboard that will shut down when trying to run programs. When I got the board, it had some issues with bad tantalum capacitors. I removed the bad capacitors and the system worked, until I tried running any programs. After booting to MS-DOS, if I try to run any programs, the system will either lock up and automatically restart after a few seconds, or lock up and completely freeze. I already cleaned the motherboard and didn't notice any bad traces. I reseated the CPU, bios chip, Ram, and tested the cache chips and the system continues to have the same problem. This is probably a stupid question , but could having a couple of tantalum capacitors removed cause any instability? Or am I dealing with another problem? Any advice would be appreciated, thank you!

Yes, failing/missing caps will often cause stability issues.
Without knowing which capacitors you removed where I'd say there's no point in further troubleshooting the system before replacing those capacitors.

Welcome to the forum btw.😃
